Even though it is hard for me to say this.....:crying::crying: but as far as looking into the current form and performance of our guys.........the answer for the above question will be definitely NO :crying:. And....just by hoping that by sheer home crowd support (as this year Thomas Cup will be held here in Malaysia)..some boost of unknown inner strength for mental and physical can be injected......still it is hard ...again for me to say that this prestigious world men team event will still elude us :crying:until ......until.......BAM do something..... Why we can't win it.......very easy.....In the single dept. , we only have Datuk LCW, and by virtue at his current form, he will able to contribute a point (1 -0)......Then comes our doubles lead by KKK/TBH which should able to deliver (2-0)........then the horror starts ........the remaining 2 singles and double...........:crying::crying::crying:........(2-3)....:crying::crying:. Hope i,m wrong :rolleyes:but...hopefully we can resurrect our golden days when we won it years ago to boost the spirit of Malaysia Badminton Team.............Malaysia Boleh......

    i think you're right.

realistically, vs the top nations, the scores are likely to be:

    vs CHN (lose 0-5)
    vs INA (lose 2-3)
    vs KOR (lose 1-4)
    vs DEN (lose 2-3)

You got a head start this time..

..at least you beat our Pemuda in creating a "doom & gloom" thread for the M'sia TC squad..:p

Here, have a kleenex to wipe away your tears & hope you'll join the BC gathering..

Of course MAS has a chance, just like any other competing nation. But a realistic one... no

I found your posting incredibly difficult to read with the liberal use of emoticons, .... and incomplete sentences. In the end, I didn't bother

Looks like not much hope. Mas can only rely on their doubles pair and Datuk Lee alone.

After doing some mental rehabilitation program, now i realized that the only realistic way for Malaysia to capture this year Thomas Cup will be to STRENGTHEN THE SINGLES DEPT..which it is unlikely to happen within this 4 month time. Our Doubles dept. is not that bad even though CTF/LWW and Mohd. zakry/Fairuz currently is not producing their best form but their game play still has the necessary flare to produce world class results......but our remaining singles are the one :(:(that could spoil the cake. So, eventually the results that dreamzz has outline could possibly be the true outcome..

As a drastic measurement.....i will now train very hard as a......sniper:rolleyes: so that we can win with a walk over:D:D:D:D

haha, i thought you were going to train very hard as a 2nd or 3rd singles player, that would be far more admirable, not to mention legal!

Malaysia's best chance in this decade was two years ago in Jakarta ...... and that was it.

Like Ants said....we can only 'hope for the best'......;)

Sadly........for years to come,...the chances will be getting harder and harder..........:(:(:(

Thats true.. but they wasted.. however i think Malaysia will still lose to China even if they are in the Finals in Jakarta.

malysia, indonisia, korea, denmark.i'm sorry, all they have is hope & dream to become a champion.only team to beat china is china.

but not to worry, those other countries can still hope until LinDan,BCL, CJ and the rest of the top China player stop playing.maybe after 2012 olympics.maybe then they will have a shot in w inning the thomas cup.

The only way we can have any chance of winning or avoided from heavy defeat is to line up our "old boys on the block" .......................in which we already know...

    1st MS Datuk LCW
    1st MD KKK/TBH
    2nd MS Wong CH
    2nd MD CTF/LWW
    3rd MS Hafiz

Only way Malaysia can win is if Lee Chong Wei can beat Lin Dan. KKK/TBH can win their matches, CTF/LWW can win their matches. The biggest challenge in beating China is their singles line up is so strong, and so deep. All 3 of China's singles players are capable of playing top singles.

With a strong second singles again, I think Denmark has a good shot at going the distance again actually. I predict a China vs Denmark final.
