Who is the guy that die in the olympic winter games ? what games did he played? was shocked when i heard the news.
I heard.. ..those gloves and all the money collected for their sales will go to support Canada's Olympic team/players??.. As for the hockey game, between U.S. vs. Canada, was that the Gold Medal game?..i don't know what the excitement is all about..
No it was not the gold medal game... it was still in the round robin but the winner (USA) get's into the quarter finals automatically while the loser (Canada) has to play Germany to qualify for a spot. The other issue is that the winner of Germany and Canada must play Russia in the quarter final. Since a lot of people were expecting a Canada vs. Russia Gold medal match up only one of the teams will actually move on to the semis. Also keep in mind that Canada has not lost to the US in mens olympic hockey since 1960. The ironic thing is that the US was wearing the 1960's jersey when they beat Canada this time.
... ..that's what i thought. From all the images, showing celebration and the facial expressions of the Canadian fans, it looks as if U.S. just won the gold medal and Canada just lost the gold medal... Well, it's now up to the Canadian players to show their will and their hunger.. ..there could be one, should Canada enter the hockey Gold medal game, play a rematch vs. the U.S.(or another team) and win it all.. Btw, good chance for a North American figure skating pair to win a Gold medal tonight in the dance event (never happened before). I bet that Prime Minister Putin will be going nuts should their last remaining Russian pair gold medal hopefuls fail to win the gold medal tonight. Imagine, this must be a first in a very long time Russia hasn't secured a figure skating gold medal in their back pocket.
Keep in mind that there's an expectation for Canada to win the gold, especially playing in Canada. The fact that we haven't lost to the US (mens hockey) in the Olympics in 40 years is also a factor.
^^Is the gold medal lost??..^^ ..is the expectation gone?? no more chance for Canada??..I thought the U.S. hockey team had beaten Canada before, in a non-Olympic event (World Championships??)
Expectations remain high. Prior to the Olympics, Hockey Canada openly expressed only gold was acceptable.
^^Definitely..^^ ..it should remain high. But, dang, i don't know why the images of the Canadian fans after y'day's lost look like as if they just lost in their elimination game or gold medal game.
So.. ..what do you guys think of maybe there's a bit of pressure for team Canada? Maybe a tinge bit of a high expectation to win a gold medal as the host or premier hockey team?
The hockey fans are pretty rabid. But you should take a look at the curling competition when the Canadians are on the ice. Those fans are nuts!
