tago has improved his fitness in the last 6 months, while doing so never make any headlines, in fact lost to all the top 10 players. this a.e 10 he has the fitness no doubt and the chinese players, yes the 3 top guns were yoyo so that's why he could beat them but can you make it 5 wins in a row? science can tell you are bluffing... next tournament is crucial for him on mental strength and as he progress playing and built his consistency then he deserves to win big tournament. right now it's lcw, bcl, cj and maybe ld 's world!
LCD? Are you on it? joking... LCW has to be very selective when it comes to smashing. KT has a defence as strong as LCW. So most of the smashes by LCW were sneak attacks, sudden changes of pace which caught KT off-guard. If KT had been ready, it would be a waste of energy.
Kenichi was in better form that day, but I think he was inexperienced and nervous, especially 3 service returns struck the net in the first game, giving away 3 free points to LCW. However, when the opponent gets the match point, he fights like he got nothing to lose. His good sportsmanship for losing over the bad call just made him another of my favourite players, barring the looks like LCW
Thumbs up for KT. He lacks of experience but he played as if he has been playing for ages. Cool and collected like a Japanese. Hope he will continue to play and improve from now on.
The stats dun lie on the day. A smash is a smash fren be it sneaky or not. It's offence. Hope they meet again in coming tournament.
when u get a double coach to train u u will get a better defence(the coach ask the double player to smash, not ms) and harder smash he teach u to smash in md way not ms kudos to pjb
Arcsaber Z-Slash Finally some pro player can bring out the full potential of Arcsaber Z-Slash - Kenichi Tago . Truly devastating smashes, even a diving Datuk failed to block the smash cleanly many times in the game. Not even Taufik can handle that beast. With the exception of Tan Boon Heong (but only in half court smash for world record)
Chinese media reported that KT is a worker who fixes wires in a telecom company in Japan. He only has trainings in the afternoon. Is that really true?
Most of Japanese players are working with company...like Reiko with Sanyo... The training centre for japanese players are very different from other countries.. Right now..the clubs have more power than Japanese Badminton association..so when they ahve big events like Thomas cup or Sudirman or Olympic..they will come together and train together under PJB.... But I heard from Japanese Badminton association last October...they will have facility so their national players can train together time to time....
Link of the report: http://sports.sina.com.cn/o/2010-03-15/13214886510.shtml Tried to translate it <----- Bao Chunlai lost to the Japanese non-full time player http://sports.sina.com.cn 13:21 华商网- China Daily Bao Chunlai lost in the semi-final to a Japanese player, Kenichi Tago. It is worth mentioning that, Kenichi can only be considered as a semi-professional player, his paid job is working as a technician in a company's cable telecommunications industry. Chen Jin and Bao Chunlai defeats against a previously unknown Kenichi, but thought-provoking. Kenichi is an employee of East Japan Telecom Company, he always completes task of laying fiber content. In contrast, the Chinese team players should be a lot more invested in all aspects. Chinese badminton team's preparation and work forces are perhaps the best in the world. They attend competitions abroad include a dedicated cook. Unfortunately our players have lost to a player who needs to go to work at the same time.
well, could we imagined what would happened if KT has full training like CHN ,MAS ? more powerful maybe
if training one session per day and still working and yet he can force lcw to 19-21,19-21 beat ntm,jp,cj and bcl in a row then he should get a full time training then they will get ae,wc,og and ag in no time but,is that true?
Yeah that is why I also question the accuracy of this article. It is normal for JPN players to accept sponsorship from telecom company, but now the case is different.
Tago is probably already considering his options for when he stops playing badminton... Having another skill that doesn't require good knees sounds wise
if you see the replay you will be able to see more of his playing style, is it up to world class? giving 3 free points is what you can recall, they are more and it just like you and me make one!! tago started fighting like he got nothing to loose the moment he enter the court, just look at his 6 months matches history and if he didn't do that, well, the final could have been chen jin, bao or even lin dan against lcw...
