I think there's too much emphasis on the N series. I haven't seen anything that distinguishes them from the 300 series aside from the owners paying for Lin Dans Bentley and splurges in the Prada shop for handbags for his girlfriend.
I think those are mid-range rackets... I remember seeing those in the catalogue when I was visiting Beijing two months ago...
Any reviews on the UC2200B? Its currently used by the Chinese WS player Wang Shixian. Was wondering if its suitable for doubles play. http://www.bbesports.com/wzgl/ProductShow.asp?ID=1279
I don't know if you guys noticed or not, but I wonder why Wang Yihan and Wang Shixian are using lower end Li Ning. They are almost four times less in price compared to the N series of rackets used by the others on Team China.
They used low end cause they carry it , got feeling , and use it for training , found that suitable for them, N series, the feeling is not there for them .. Ya!
Absolutely! I managed to get 3 of these through a trade with a buddy of mine. They are great rackets. The shaft may be a bit flexy for some but to me it is fine. The racket is great and is my go to racket now. Only thing lacking is power, but it maybe because of the flexier shaft or I might just need more time to adjust to it.
Would anyone kindly compare the n90 to the n70? Also, comparisons to Yonex rackets would be nice. Thanks.
FYI, those so called low-end racquet used by wang shixian and yihan is just not actually what you think. They are actually high custom made racquet with the specific racquet look. It has been confirmed by the offical that this is true. So dont expect to get the same performance racquet with them
yes, I believe that Apacs do a similar thing, the rackets that Gan/Tan use are not actually the same ones that you can buy in the shop, they are customed and are not available to the wider public.
The N90II is slightly stiffer, and a little bit more head-heavy. For me, theres no difference in power, but the N90II has better control, so it improved my dropshot accuracy. Around the net, theres no big difference. My touch has improved slightly, but that is due to the better stringing job and higher tension. The N70 is a bit more head-light, and a bit stiffer. It's more controlled, especially in defence, but lacks power i.m.o., or rather isnt suited to my style of play as much. Since I havent played a lot of Yonex rackets, I cant say much about that, my guess would be that the AT900 is quite similar to the N90. The N70, I dont know.
N90, N50, N70 Review Well, I have the N90 Woods (Lin Dan), the N50 Flame (Fu Hai Feng) and the N70 Storm (Cai Yun) N90: -Head Heavy Balance -Really good to smash with -Good as well for placement -More flexible than the Yonex Armortec 800DEF, 900T and the ArcSaber 10 => Good to use in singles. ONLY singles (In my opinion) N50: -Even balanced -REALLY good in doubles. -Driving is smooth and good. Compared to the N90 easy to keep the head up -Pretty flexible, (not as flex as N90). As flexible as the AS-10 =>Absolutely my favorite in doubles. N70: -Slightly head-heavy balanced. -Can be used in singles and in doubles as well -Good for placement in doubles rather than power (net play) -As flexible as the N50, AS-10 more flex than the AT-900T and AT-800DEF => Nice when you want to place the shuttle well in fast doubles. In the end I'd like to share a pic with you Rackets: N70 N90 AT-900T AS-10 AT-800DEF AT-800 DEF AS-10 AT-900 T N90 N70 N50
For me, it's easier to play with the N90II in doubles than change rackets, cause I'd have to get used to the different feeling and in our club, we mix it up all the time - no one plays just singles or doubles. I agree that its quite head-heavy, but since I prefer playing from the back anyway, it's not too much of a problem. Gripping it higher at the net also helps. The N70 (played by Bao Chunlai btw, Cai Yun uses the N33) is not suited much better for doubles imo, as it's only slightly less head-heavy. But I agree that the N90's and N90II's potentials lie in singles - the dropshots and smashes with these rackets are awesome. Really great touch for controlled, tight dropshots, and much power for smashes =) And a pic of my N90II and all of my (good) rackets:
Yeah youre right - that IS the n70 oO But he definitely played the n33 at one point (before or after that pic was taken), I remember a vid where he used it - and the N70 was made for Bao Chunlai anyway
