Having a brief look at the MS in the current WJC I notice that both the CHN top players lost in QF, and the Semi's will be made up of 2xIND players 1 danish and either a thai or a Korean. I understand Junior form doesn't have to replicate itself in the senior game, but with a couple of exceptions (eg Gong Weijie) the finalists/winner if Chinese have come through to perform very weel in the senior game eg. LD, BCL, CJ are these losses significant? or are the players younger that the max age, so playing "against the bigger boys" so to speak?
only discuss ms? ok huang is 17 cai is 18 liu kai is 17 not sure about liu he anyway i had mention that this batch of chinese player is the weakest i had ever saw since i following ajc and wjc in the ajc thread huang is the best in the squad but is simply not good enough in the final, loh wei sheng suppose to win in 2 set but the last tournament lws played was in 2009 can u imagine that? not enough on court experience lead to the defeat when lws served 2 service in to the net in 2nd set after interval
Thank for the help, so we could see some interesting battles in the senior tournaments in 5 or so years time, an end to the chn domination? I think doubles is ven less predictable in the change over from Junior to Senior, hence why not discuss, also MS is better!
no i dont think so wang zheng ming is there and so does tian hou wei(2009 ajc and wjc winner) if iskandar start to train with lee chong wei next year then might have chance if not, tian hou wei will dominate the ms like how lindan does after 2012
power are good but not that skillful i would rather pay attention on ng ka long and lee chun hei who is only 16 and played so well
Quick input. ..most of the matches where the CHN MS players lost ended in rubber games. So, i would say, it's even steven between the players. It's hard to tell as yes, they're still young and their future are unknown, how far they'll progress and can be consistent. But, yes, we are seeing the future already in these talented kids. I'd say, in about 4-5 yrs time we'll see them in full gear.. As for end to CHN domination in MS??..hmm, maybe they won't have another LD or BCL..But as far as i check, they still have 3-4 or even 5 really talented young Singles players in comparison to other countries which only have 1 or at most 2 talented players..Time will tell.. India's 2 MS Semifinalists are a bit of a surprise. But then they're opponents are inconsistent and/or lack the experience hours.. ..i still get this feeling that there are still players who are over-aged..
On a side-note. The Danish WD, Sandra-Maria Jensen and Line Kjærsfeldt, were born April 5th and 20th respectively, both 1994 as well.
I noticed that there were a lot of players who paticipated in the EJC U17 last year. A few of the russians are around that age as well I believe ...
At this age, you just can't predict how they'll fare. Because they are not yet familiar with each other's playing styles and with limited tournament experience, it is hard to say if favourites will win. Denmark's Axelsen, now tagged a favourite, might find the short end of the stick against Sai Praneet. Even Malaysia' Ow Yao Han, the guy with probably the most tournament experience among all, would not find the going smooth to defend his title. Yesterday, had to slog against Praneet/Chopra, who were rather easily defeated by the Indonesians at the same stage in AJC.
Having watched Sai Praneet and Axelsen, I would guess it is an easy win for Axelsen.. He has made very good progress last year.. In Denmark they beleive he is the "next gade" Training with WCH http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kstNH5n4sNE
Exactly. Some people mature physically/mentally early, then stop developing, others may not reach full physical development until well into their 20's.
Globalisation is catching up. Better things to do than spending 6(+?) hours a day in a stuffy gym . In not too long the football virus will spread as well ...
Well, Axelsen learned from the loss in the team event and after a tight 19-21 loss in first.. 21-15,21-15 ... /T
I feel that this year World Junior championship is again a big disappointment for China,, they fail to enter the final for mens Single and men doubles. Again the ladies double done well to enter final!
yeah they also get upseted last year where they only won 2 hehe this year they might win 2 again despite having only 3 pair in final
