i believe all second places after group matches will go into the draw to determine which of the 4 top teams (winner of group) to play in QF. assuming CHN will win the group, MAS can throw a match here and there to be second thus into the draw. but whats the point?
if the danes repeat all their last winning forms - peter against lin dan and the mens doubles, denmark can beat china (that is, if they do meet)!
So if CHN beat KOR and MAS beat JPN, they won't meet in QF? But if KOR beat CHN and MAS beat JPN, there's chance for them to meet? Or if JPN beat MAS and CHN beat KOR, then there's chance for a CHN vs MAS QF? Or are they gonna just unscramble the top 8 and do a fresh draw? What's the rule?

simply, the winners of the 4 groups will be seeds 1 to 4 for the semi, therefore wouldnt meet in the QF. Also, as CHN and INA are rank 1 and 2 respectively they would meet until the final if they both won their groups.
so CHN could meet KOR again in QF? seems it is not like soccer World Cup or European Championship, teams met in group stage could be avoided in the 1st round of the knock-off stage?
i do think China does hold a big edge over others like the poll... the 5 teams have different areas of strenght so their chances are just 20%+ or 20%-... my predictions: CHN: 23% an excellent 1st MS, good 2nd and 3rd MS plus a good MD, so maybe 23%; MAS: 21% an excellent 1st MS and good 1st MD, fairly good 2nd MD, plus home court advantage, so say 21%; DEN: 20% a good 1st MS and good and average MDs, so 20%; INA: 19% averagely good MSs and MDs, so 19%; KOR: 17% without LYD, no one outstandingly good MS or MD excelp the unknown LYI.., so 17%.
WHAT ! You ownly class Taufik as a "average" player ? IMO, with the exception of china, I would say INA have the best selection of singles players, for thomas cup competitions. For MS, it's: 1. CHN 2. INA 3. DEN 4. MAS 5. KOR For MD it's, 1. DEN 2. CHN 3. MAS 4. INA 5. KOR (can't think of the second pair) By this logic, the result would be: 1. CHN (3) 2. DEN (4) 3. INA (6) 4. MAS (7) 5. KOR (10) But MAS have home support. So.... Anything can happen.

jia yu fans better feel good at 100% now before meeting mas and when lcw beat lin dan, probably 50% is gone, then the md1, another 20% gone so should have 30% or 0% to celebrate whatever outcome of the meet!
I feel Malaysia team is stronger than Indonesia and Japan, although Japan has upset us in the group matches. If MAS cannot stop China (although the chance is slim), Indonesia and Japan have no way to win against China as well.
don't underestimate the japs, they have proved they are also bulldozers, nothing gonna stand their way!
