After reading the forum for a while, I have decided to create a new thread as my first posting.

I think it is boring to discusss who will win the Thomas or Uber Cups. It is so obvious. But, I think the BWF should organize another event: World vs Cup Winners. Basically it will be the Winners of Thomas Or Uber Cups against the rest of the world. For now, it is China vs Rest of the World.

Even with that format, it will be difficult to beat Team China on ladies' side. But on men's side, which team will be favorite? China or World?

    world

world, because world CAN always field the player that China's player lost to in each tie.

    For example,

LD vs (player LD lost to)...
CY/FHF vs ( player they lost to)...
CJ vs (player CJ lost to)...
G/XIE vs ( player they lost to)..
BCL vs (player BCL lost to)...

and every china player lost to some player in some tournament recently even though their good.

LD might win 1 point but that's about it.

It won't be even useful, even if u got the dream team, against china.China's power in all aspects as a team, men's,women's,single's,double's is the best in their field at this current moment.IMO,the only way to beat them,is to catch up with them,or even to be better than them.Do extra on exercise, national team management n finally, the best ingredient, pump the money into the sport! That is only if the countries sporting minister across the globe were even care about badminton sport developments.

For now in badminton, it is China's World. Lin Dan's world for specificity!

The only problem with this arrangement is that LCW is ranked higher than Park and Gade.

No way is the wrong answer.

China will be favorite in MS1. And World will be favorite in MD2.

In other games, it will be easy to find players with 50:50 chances to win.

LCW can't afford to skip tournaments, he needs it really. He needs matches for his fitness, if he skips tourneys, he'll also lose consistency! He's unlike others who can press a button to 'start' and 'stop' whenever. LCW needs constant array of tourneys to sharpen dull edges;).

china against world! it will never work. may be CHN is at her best recently, but remember only a few years back INA won the TC 5 times in a row, 13 times in total and UC twice in the 90s. every teams and players have their up and down, when (not if) the next country come up to challenge CHN to the crown are we going to change the format again to so and so against the world.

this happened with volleyball back in the 80s. the Chinese women volleyball team was so strong and dominating that they formed a world team with players from cuba, russia, etc all playing against the Chinese. i don't remember who won but it was definitely a great spectacle for the volleyball fans.

Did that start the downhill of Chinese women volleyball? well, BWF should try that, at least on the women side.

    Based on rank :

MS#1 - Lee Chong Wei (Probably lose, but then Gade can take second MS)
    MD#1 - Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae
    MS#2 - Peter Hoeg Gade
    MD#2 - Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan
    MS#3 - Park Sung Hwan
