18th YONEX BWF World Championships 2010 Paris, France is the location for the 18th BWF World Championship 2010 which will be hosted by the Federation Francaise De Badminton from 23 - 29 August. Hosted for the first time in Paris, the Championships will see the world’s top players compete for the title of World Champion. Some formal informations : Stade Pierre de Coubertin is on the south west of Paris, near the suburbs (Boulogne-Billancourt). It is near from the stadium "Parc des Princes" where plays le Paris Saint Germain, the main football club in Paris. That's why one shouldn't be in the area before and after the Saturday match, but for sure the zone is safe in august. The arena is very compact, and there's 3500~ places.

You can come to France and see the world champs but you have to buy your tickets now and search an hotel !

Two news from the official website : the activities in Paris (wasn't there ), and the new website : "Activities in the parisian streets began the last thursday (June, 3rd) with “Thursdays of Badminton”. For this occasion, everybody could practised* badminton outside for free. This operation still go on every week in June and until July, 8th. Thus, the City Hall of the 2nd arrondissement of Paris opened* its courtyard where experts Andrea VANDERSTUKKEN and Thibaut WEISS gave advices to beginners. Next to the City Hall, “place des Petits Pères” welcomed badminton lovers, families, people who has just finished working, or simple passers-by to enjoy badminton courts and equipments made available. Other many animations are expected this summer until the Yonex BWF World Championships 2010.
