yes, this is typical boleh-land ppl attitude n thinking. achieve little bit but enjoy to de fullest.
there is no way this type of thinking can produce world champions. to say otherwise is simply fantasy.

top-level elite sportsman like SUPER DAN dedicates fully to the game.
like olden days grandmasters of kung-fu, SUPER DAN seeks to perfect his game and constantly improves.
that's why he is always 3 steps ahead of datuk.

no amount of post-mortem by BAM can succeed when evrybody choose not to see the problem.
    this is typical boleh-ppl attitude.
but dun worry, boleh-fans will forever support their boleh-heroes even when they can juz win satellite tournaments.
look at what happen to boleh-football and boleh-takraw teams...

    Very true.
    "Real Champions are NEVER satisfied."
They will always look for ANY WAY to further improve themselves.. on the quest to perfection.

Don't run away from problem; better solve it now than linger till later..!

Admitting that you are willing to learn something new and different is the hallmark of excellence. Once you are on top of the world and you stop being curious, thinking that you are the best in the world, that will be the beginning of the end.
This applies to every human endeavour.
Just look at LD and his mentor the "Thing", a deadly combination for the big ocassions.

Well, here is what makes sense, directionally www.thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2010/5/25/sports/6332888&sec=sports; www.thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2010/5/25/sports/6332886&sec=sports.
This if extended more to the grassroots will itself bring big problems, and that is finance. You cannot depend on income from sponsors and the government unless thay are guaranteed to be long term. Even then, sponsors want immediate results, like having top players displaying their logos, etc. They have utterly no interest to see their money go to these grassroots "birth places of badminton". Also, the allocation of funds is no easy task. Too much for performance of top players will mean less goes to the grassroots.

Some balance is needed. The women's team never used to have centralised training. Now that they do, results are better although, not quite there.

did u saw any big case as korea and denmark lost in quater final?
did china do meeting for 2 weeks after their defeat in uber cup?

other country acknowledge they are not good enough and went back to training

only malaysia is seeking for the answer

    this is lame

    the answer is:
    we are not good enough

will holding meeting everyday make our player stronger?

Simply going back to training is not a long term comprehensive solution. It will simply mean a repeat of the same thing or even worse when all your stars are ageing. At least a very comprehensive study is attempted here to find out all the problems with a view to a long term solution.
We need to look at the whole supply/production chain/link from its "birth" (badminton sense) at school when kids are 7 years old to international tournaments.

    well
when the manager doesnt want to send player for exposure and gain on court experience
the least thing player can do is train to their very best by themself.
just like how loh wei sheng who are not match fit able to reach the final of ajc 2010
    given the situation
this is the best we can have
    all talk is empty
    all suggestion is useless
    because
the player still manage by same president
    nothing will change to improve
    that is the same thing

    my word is
dont be naive to believe what they say they will do nor they will change
they only know how to talk
    how to meeting
    how to blame
    how to make money

    that's all

do u think he so stupid that he dont know where the problem is?
    he know
but he cannot and will not admit
    because
he is one of the source of the problem
of course he will say something like seeking for help and solution/answer thingy to remove the spotlight

    lol

    if u still cannot understand
    i rest my case

I think everyone will not dispute that the best solution is to develop a very comprehensive grassroot system, from the first year in school to international tournaments. But this is easier said than done. Money does not grow on trees or fall down with the Malaysian rains/monsoons.
Because of its very nature the bread and butter funding for such a grassroot system cannot come from the BAM or the government, although they can chip in.
This is to avoid being held ransom to the fortunes of the BAM, sponsors, government finances which are never guaranteed for sports, or even corporations.
At the school level how about a merit system for sporting prowess which awards some sort of incentives or extra marks for making it to the various grades of the local school, the inter-school, or state schools-player status? This system needs to be refined and fine-tuned. Rewarding sporting excellence at school with real incentives of extra marks and other incentives, on condition that a minimum academic standard is complied with, will bring all the parents fully on board. When parents are involved, a new perspective and a new horizon on the game will emerge.
I personally had an experience on this but this was because the headmaster was very conscious of using sporting prowess to enhance the standing of the school. About 55 years ago when we were secondary students in Malaysia there were 3 of us who dominated school sports from soccer, rugby, cricket, field hockey, to athletics (mainly sprint and jumping events), but not badminton. One day we decided to go to another school and asked to meet with the headmaster. The headmaster of the new school obviously had heard about us and welcomed us warmly. He was pleasantly surprised when we proposed the idea that we transfer to his school the following year but including my elder brother who detested sports. The headmaster said yes to the 3 of us but no to my brother. You know what we did? We said either all of us or none. We won.
Now I am sure there are many school heads in Malaysia who have an eye for sports and the image it will bring.

    BAM will become like FAM...

FAM before Sultan Abdullah become President in 1992... Msia & Korea are the best two in Asia... and now we are rank 130th in the world.

Datuk Nadzmi in BAM = Sultan Abdullah in FAM...

That is one way to solve the problem and your friend chose his own decision.
There is another way to look at his decision. He quit because he just did not have the mental toughness, simply because he did not agree with someone else's (BAM) policy.

for sure the money allocated will not reach the grassroots and we will end up losing to Vietnam, Thailand, Germany, etc until boleh-team become irrelevant.
like all thgs in boleh-land, all the money will be used to benefit the few ppl who walk in the corridors of power.
the only solution is to hire professionals (ex-sportsmen) to run the whole thg.
and ppl like datuk and kkk shld be made compulsory to give a portion of their earnings from prize money and sponsorship back to the sports system.
after all, their success is bcoz of the system.

And what is your beef here?
The same thing can be said about the economies of Malaysia vs Korea. In the 1960s Malaysia was much richer than Korea and even China. Are you saying Tengku Abdul Rahman was a better PM than the present PM? Are you blaming the leaders for every problem?
The Philippines was the richest Asian country after the second world war, far ahead of Japan, China or Korea. Even in the 1970s American multinational corporations operating in Malaysia used to bring in Philippino expatriates for high managerial positions. Today, it is very different. So where is the blame?
The biggest factor influencing a nation's fortunes or standing in the world is the people. If you have poor quality people you will have poor leaders, because poor quality people will put their mirror image on the throne.

Some of the players(back up) also need to work part time to survive. It's not just discipline or late nights stuff, policy & politics also involved.
