BAM boss aware of memo PETALING JAYA: The memorandum from a coalition of NGOs (non-govermental organisations) calling for changes to the top management in the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has been brought to the attention of the association’s president, Datuk Mohd Nadzmi Salleh. BAM general manager Kenny Goh, who confirmed this yesterday, refrained from commenting further. However, he did not discount the possibility that the matter may be brought up at the next BAM council meeting. A group of 50 people from a coalition of NGOs turned up at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara on Tuesday, demanding that the BAM’s top management – including Nadzmi – resign and stop blaming others for the association’s failures. The memorandum also called on BAM to put their house in order and to sort out the internal problems which led to the sacking of secretary P. Ganga Rao. The protesters also urged BAM to unearth new talent and focus on making Malaysia a world-class badminton nation again in the wake of their Thomas Cup semi-final defeat by China recently.
so 3rd gear is sufficient and lets say i agree to you..... do you think if lin dan used 6th gear against lcw in tuc he can also win?
Yawn some more.... This gear stuff of his had been going on for ages. He is fond of using it but we are bored to death.
If LinDan use 6th Gear... he will be playing LCW's game. That is why LinDan use the "wait and pounce" method. No doubt Lindan is very Fit during that match.
... and with a nose bleed ..and when he played lcw's game at 6th gear he will crash his gear box the wait and pounce method is like you are forced to sprint 20 metre with 2 sec rest for 20 min i think cooler's 6 gear is different..
5th gear, 6th gear or "wait and pounce" approach gear, i don't know if LCW ever got his gear out of the box..
I would say LCW has "No Gear" when he faces LD. "No Gear" in Chinese means "wu chi lun"; which means "No teeth"....therefore can't bite.....in short......"Got scared!"
I suggest Proton to start researching a CVT for LCW so he dun have to change gear... Seriously, the LD-LCW 2nd set was so disappointing. LD definitely played well but evidently LCW totally could not adapt to LD's change in tactic. In comparison, LD crushed TH in with a very patient first game but TH fought even from trailing 1-11. LCW would have owned TH physically (speed and stamina) but TH is still a better tactician.
Agree. Why do you think LCW, and MAS players in general, are such poor tacticians? Do you think it's because the coaches are poor tacticians?
Yo Cooler, Speaking about gearbox in Baddy, try out our gearbox soup when you're next in Msia. more on gearboxes in this link :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkc_M-18dIo
Taufik had better tactics despite the worse score(worse speed and stamina compared to LCW), I guess, otherwise his score would have been much worse than LCW's. LCW showed some promise towards the end of the first game when he started grabbing consecutive points. I was thinking that if LCW started better, he would have a chance. Unfortunately, LCW was totally destroyed in the second game and didn't play well.
actually bam really needs to hire a psychologist who can speak mandarin and malay! most of the players can't understand english accept sms of course
Talking about psychologist and tactician, for LD he already has it in TXH. The problem with LCW beside his weak mentality againts LD alone is LD himself being a better player overall. I dont see LCW has any problem beating the rest of the players in the circuit with his supreme fitness and skills. He would simply out-played his opponents with his normal game but when it comes to LD, its a different scenario all together. I believed Misbun had came up with various strategies to neutralize LD, but when all is done and results remained negative, it shows one thing: LD's standard is one notch higher. His speed, power, on-court intelligence and anticipation skills were too much for LCW to handle. In contrary, LD knows LCW's game inside out and always have a few strategies to play him thanks to the mastery guidance of TXH. Pre2010 LD relied heavily on his speed and power play and currently switched his style to speed, accuracy and patience. He waits for the right moment to pounce and seldom employ his jumping smashes anymore. Whichever way he chose to play, LD would have the upper hand over LCW. In another word his game is very all-round, almost perfect whenever he play LCW. So yes. LCW need a master tactician cum psychologist in the calibre of TXH and he need it urgently! My two cents.
Agree. This is a high-risk strategy. It's like trying to ace exams by spotting questions and just swotting for those. The question then is why does LD have to resort to that? If you observe LD's matches, you will notice that the way he behaves when playing LCW is unique compared to his other opponents. 1. LD behaves like a challenger. In TC10, LD exhibited confidence in exaggerated ways, as if he had to really pump himself up but also to tell LCW 'I'm in top form and your game is programmed in my mind 100%'. Clearly, his coaches perceive LCW to have some extra edge over LD, otherwise why would LD have to behave in this manner? 2. But it's worth the risk because that's the only way the coaches believe LD can defeat LCW. LCW has all-round skills to match LD, with a slight edge in natural speed. That slight edge in natural speed is good enough to translate into a winning edge when LCW plays 'normally'. When LCW does not play 'normally', he looks very ordinary because he would lose his 'normal' speed and becomes very vulnerable. That's how even NTM could beat LCW in SO09 because NTM memorised LCW's game and made LCW lose his confidence. Or to Sony in WC09. It amazes me how he and Misbun don't seem to learn or maybe they can't figure out a solution. It's like their preparations means having a game plan but there are no what-ifs and fall-back plans to counter the what-ifs. 3. In TC08, LD also took the same risk, spotting-questions style. He also behaved extra pumped-up. In fact, he did these knee-up, waist-high jumps for quite a while before the match. But he lost badly because LCW changed his syllabus and LD was stunned throughout the match. Actually for LCW to derail LD (who memorises his game), LCW does not need to change the whole syllabus. Just at the beginning and every now and then, throughout the match, to keep LD guessing. When a player is kept guessing (not by deceptive shots but by what's gonna be the next unpredictable shot), a lot of mental energy is wasted, memory gets unscrambled and retrieval is slowed down.
