My Russian Binoculars ......Out of Action

Yup, binoculars tend to be useless on Finals Day, what with the elimination of cuties on court on semifinals day. By the time I've had enough of closeups of Kim Min Jung's pretty and tense face, I made the decision to scout for more pleasant surroundings outside ......

Didn't return back to the stadium until the Men's Singles Final.

No need to spot Djarum Girls, they could be hunted down with pinpoint accuracy from thousands of miles away ..... like honey for the bees. But not for you George, you're still "too old".

The Men's Singles Final .... And Exit to Airport

Finally comes the match that I could only enjoy up to the 2nd game interval, no thanks to Saina Nehwal and Kim Min Jung/Lee Hyo Jung taking too much time to subdue their opponents ......

From the start, we could see that Taufik made a huge gamble with high pace and all guns blazing. It was the making of a classic match, but partially tempered by the quality of line judging, Taufik even giving an apologetic gesture to LCW when it happens. Mind you, until that match, line judging was spot on. Quite a few Indonesian supporters seated close to me were uncomfortable with those calls, because we could see how big the gap was on the huge TV.

LCW kept enough composure to finish off the first game in tight circumstances. By the time of the 2nd game, we could see clearly that Taufik had lost steam, which also signalled my exit back to the hotel and the cab to the Airport.

I guess we all sat somewhere very close to each other. This was my angle too, probably I sat a bit above abedeng :D

Istora's atmosphere was w.o.w. The EO also did a great job in giving off-court shows before the game started, the DIO birds that kept on dancing and performing funny acts, and the great outlets outside the stadium providing food and others. Wow, the best IO I ever been if I may say.
