Tried the Ultimate and I feel the power is probably the same or better than the PP9990 but it is quicker.
I was curious when i first saw the text "heavy heavy +" on the prototype as well. I was told, it is supposed to mean head heavy-> bp290-295mm head heavy + -> bp295-300mm heavy heavy + (in between head heavy and heavy+) -> 293-298mm Which means, the bp of the ULTIMATE SERIES (power) is 293-298mm. This is what they meant, not typo.

Hi teoky, r u using 2U or 3U Ultimate when comparing the power with PP9990? As I understand PP9990 is 3U. Was pondering whether to get a 2U or 3U. I have a PP9990 too, like the power.
ZELM Ultimate Series (power); I've had the privilege of having played the (new) Ultimate Series (power) for approx. 2hrs (court-time) over the past couple of days. Am constructing a review of sorts and will post it in a bit...
ZELM Ultimate Series (power); First impressions... DETAILS: Racquet Model: ZELM Ultimate Series (power) Strings: Yonex BG 65 Ti @ 28lbs (ECP) Grip: 3 1/4 inch handle stripped of stock grip, layered with duct tape and electrical tape with butt thickened and gripped with Towelgrip Strung Weight: 96 g Balance Point: 292 mm PRELIMINARIES The racquets feature a 76-hole configuration on a 'Delta-frame' (as seen on Armortecs). Paintwork is rich and luscious (although I'm very much more interested in how they play than how they look). Racquet head was very stable during stringing (this has come to be a hallmark of ZELM racquets). The head-heaviness of this racquet is evident right-away (from the very first touch). Somehow, I got the impression that this shaft is noticeably stiffer than the Powerplays (9990 and 10000)... although the only way to be really sure was to actually play the racquet DURING PLAY The usual strengths associated with head-heavy racquets are (inevitably) present in the ZELM Ultimate Series (power)... Clears and lobs were very 'comfortable' (high and deep), while drops and slice/chop-shots were precise. Smashes and drives were crisp and accurate... (but, like I said... these are things that are EXPECTED from head-heavy racquets) In defence, this racquet performs (at least) on par with the Powerplay 10000 (and is superior to the PP9990). I am pleasantly surprised by the fact that this (evidently) head-heavy racquet is (noticeably) so QUICK. What truly impressed was the speed of this racquet during fast, 'flat' exchanges... Pushes, half-pushes, flicks and (even) blocks could be played with a 'sure-ness' and 'firm-ness' of touch that I have not had access to prior to this! I feel that this comes from the (very) stiff shaft that ZELM have opted to 'mate' with the heavy-head. This is a seriously lively (and fast) racquet! SUMMARY As I've stated earlier, - There is immense FACE STABILITY on this racquet - This racquet is very (noticeably) HEAD-HEAVY - This racquet is (ALSO) very (noticeably) STIFF - This racquet is surprisingly (very) QUICK Truly a racquet for (practically) 'all seasons', the ZELM Ultimate Series (power) is very swiftly becoming MY FAVOURITE RACQUET I know that this probably sounds too good to be true, but... Many others will be posting the same observations soon.
What i feel. IMO Racket: ZELM ultimate series (power) Weight: 3U Grip size: G5, original grip replaced with Karakal Pu multi grip. Stringing:Stringing is a breeze on the ZELM ultimate series (power). With its sturdy frame and 76hole stringing pattern, it makes the job of the stringer much easier. Hassle free (no shared grommets at top to mess up), Headache free (sturdy frame, no stress) Play: Looking at the physical attributes of the Ultimate Series, ZELM produced a monster. Delta frame, BP 293-298mm, Stiff+, all these are the attributes of an outright offensive racket. With the ZELM PT shaft make II, I am pretty sure it will work much better than the make I. As usual on all ZELM rackets, clears, lobs and pushes are effortless. The stiffness and head heaviness is significant. Assuring and Powerful upon impact. On offensive shots (smashes, pushes), the head heaviness was a bonus, giving the racket an extra punch and the stiff+ shaft gives better precision and control. Defense is surprisingly ok for such an end loaded monster. Swing speed is fast, slightly faster than the powerplay9990. Somewhere between the Powerplay9990 and Powerplay10000. My first choice of racket for doubles now.
