I offered to do a full specs measurement for him, and then let him decide between his 3U and my 2U.

a very short review on the ultimate series. pls note i only managed to play one game of singles with it.

power: 8/10 (more power than pp10000 and pp9990)
speed: 8/10 (quicker than pp9990 but slower than pp10000)
    defense:9/10 (on par with pp10000)
feel: 7/10 (quite subjective but i feel the sweet spot is quite small when compared to a pp99900 or even pp10000)
    value for money: 10/10 :)

    Hi,

can you comment on how head heavy and stiff the racket is compared to some common rackets out there such as mp100 etc?

    ZELM Ultimate Series Review

    Hi All,

Just want to give my feedback on the Zelm Ultimate series which I bought from Sgbad last Friday. It was nice of him to meet me at a convenient place to pickup the racket. I tested the racket last Saturday and here is my honest opinion of the racket.

    (a) Head :- A tad heavier than the PP10K (I don't own a 9900), find the head is more stable as well and I like this very much.
    (b) Shaft :- Stiff but still manageable - In fact I quite like it and I find it easier to control than the 10K.
    (c) Power: Definitely it can release more power than PP10K. I manage to get more winning smashes.
    (d) Speed: Only played for 1 hour so I can only comment that the speed is more manageable compared to the PP10K.
    (e) Feel:- I like the Utlimate feel compared to the 10K, however I suspect it could be the string I used, ie. ZyMax 62 @25lbs.
    (f) Defense: It perform well in defense as well during my double games.
    (g) Overall: Value for money and a good racket to own - I am happy! :)

Anyone keen on my PP10K since I've upgraded to the Ultimate. I'm looking at letting go my PP10K @SGD$ 70, bought less than 2 months. Pls contact me @9638-2822

    Best Regards,
    eptan

My initial feedback about my ZELM Ultimate Power (3U, BG-66 white at 25lbs. Original grip intact plus four layers of gauze tape and one Karakul Super PU grip. Static weight 108 grams).

About me: Intermediate doubles player, rehabilitating from an arm injury, but still persisting with playing stiff racquets. I haven't been able to give the racquet much of a full clobber yet, but I think I have good feel of what this racquet is about.

About my racquets: I own (or have owned in past five months) Victor PowerWaves 11, Victor SuperWaves 31, RSL Firepower 9000, Apacs Tantrum 300, Apacs Lethal 70, Apacs Visible Hollow 2020, Apacs Tantrum Light, Li-Ning BP 301C, Li-Ning TP 101C, Zelm Trixon 8, Yonex Ti-10 (3rd gen) and Yonex Carbonex 35sp & 21sp. All 3U, except the 4U Lethal 70.

    Ok, back to the ZELM.

Power: 9/10. Impressive. Comparable to the best I've tried. Punching power (slightly) second only to the PW11 and 301C. One thing I noticed is that the string bed pattern is less dense than with some other racquets, which might help with power output.
Stiffness: 8.5/10. Very stiff, but not the stiffest out there. It's not as punishing on the arm as some power frames I've used before.
Stability: 7/10. No problems here. The head appears to have above-average resistance to twisting on mishits.
Feel: 6/10. A bit muted for my liking, but still fine. It's something I didn't expect, especially with the BG-66, but it doesn't have that crisp feel when the shuttle hits the face. Similar feel with BG-66 strung at 27lbs too. This might be why too it's not hurting my arm as much as some racquets. Possibly a string change might help.
Speed/defense: 8/10. I mean, compared to my current set of iron bars, this racquet feels fast, fast, fast… Amazing for a power orientated racquet.
Weight/Balance: Low static weight and light to swing. It's still head heavy. Only the SW31 is more head heavy, but I like the overall balance of the ZELM.
Paint job: 7.5/10. No problems here. Very small section of text on the shaft is not printed exactly parallel, but it's very minor (you have to look very hard to spot it) and doesn't take anything away from what is a finely made racquet. The clear coat is smooth.
Value: 10/10. Excellent. The very best deal going right now.

Overall, a fast, power-racquet with a softer feel. This is the racquet I will be using for now...
