Good luck, the whole stadium will be cheering for you, as well as all of BC, (except for the members from Holland)
Hope you can carry your recent good form in North America into the Worlds. Good luck to you and Mathieu
Go Brice, give your best shot (several) and don't use if I win. Replace it with "then" and "then" and "then". Go in with the right mentality.
I believe another French MS player Simon Maunoury is in the draw, he did quite well in Canada. Good luck to all French players on the World Championships, I am sure they will do very well. yes, it should be "and when I win". I think you should be able to beat Palayama, and when you play Sony in the next round, anything can happen, you have the home support rememeber
"If I win" - modesty, respect for opponent "When I win" - arrogance, gives opponent bulletin board material
yeah you are right, but if you give your opponent too much respect, then you are resigned to losing. I learned this, in one of my first high level tournament, I came up against an opponent, who was very good, he goes to the only sports schools here, I didn't play well, and gave him way too much respect and ended up losing quite badly in the end. but in another tournament later in the year, I came up against another person, who was very good as well but this time I decided that I would go out, and just play as aggresively as possible, and not give him any respect, this time even though my opponent was probably better than me, I just decided that I wasn't going to let him win, and I ended up winning the match.
That's good. You actually learned from your defeat. My point is you don't have to publicly diss your opponent whether you respect him or not.
Yep, and since then (about 2-3 months ago) it is a style that I have adopted and played with ever since, also since then I have beat other people who I use to consider to be a lot better than me. Yep, sorry should have been more clearer, obviously I didn't walk up to my opponent and say " I am going to beat you" I didn't say anything really apart from the score. But what I meant is that inside yourself you should believe that you can beat your opponent, no matter who he is.
I'm sure Brice, like every other player on the circuit has that self belief but choose to remain respectful openly BTW, about Simon Manoury, I did not get to see much of him, but he did make a "big" impression on me. . Huge fella, isn't he?
Your loss to that 'very good' person is maybe your opponent is better:crying: You win against the 'very good' player is maybe because you have a better racket
