When you say 'lack of broadcasting', I assume you meant internet live, not live TV broadcast. Because badminton will not sell to North American audience, no sponsors, no advertisers, so no TV live and translate to low $$$ for badminton tournaments.
hi totalsportstv Can you please confirm regarding the live streaming for Australia, would it be available? There is a conflicting msg on www.totalsports.tv about this. Thank you
additional problem seems to be that some officials do not like to promote it, at least in US - or what shall we think about the visa issue that appeared when Taufik wanted to play in California last month - so when they start stopping the ambassadors of badminton to enter tournaments this way, what shall we think about it? IMO that was and it remains as a shame. no need to discuss again, it was done during Canadian open already. So Canada seems to be different, that's already a good start!
the official broadcaster is Eurosport France... u can get the information here: http://www.yonexbadminton2010.com/en/media/official-tv-broadcaster--eurosport for malaysian i believe Astro Supersport is going to take the feed from Eurosport France to broadcast in Malaysia.... i work with Astro so.. yeah... i'll find more sources for Malaysian others not so sure sorry...
Zzz andi chairul(trans7 management) say in twitter : 'Trans|7 will broadcast, wait for further info' haha they make confuse
Earlier they mentioned no LIVE telecast for World Champ 2010. Then, they will broadcast it. What a confusing statement Waiting úntil last minute to know whether there's LIVE WC or not...
I didn`t read all that thread but I know that eurosport france will stream it. 4,95€ for one month http://www.tvchannelsfree.com/watch/3095/Eurosport-France.html alltogether for more than 20 hours.
From what I read, if you only want a one month subcription you have to pay 6.5 pounds. Problem is: From FAQ of Eurosport Access to the local versions of Eurosport Eurosport Player gives users access to the Eurosport channels broadcasting in the country they are logging in from. In the UK and Ireland this is British Eurosport and British Eurosport 2. Local versions of Eurosport are available only if you are connecting from the same country. For example, there is no access to British Eurosport if you are connecting from France and vice versa. ********************************************************************************************* you cannot access EuroSport France if you are not from France. Damn. Looks like I have to rely on sopcast/PPlive yet again. Why are they making our life so difficult? The broadcasters always complain that we rely on freeware for live badminton and hence not making business for them. But in this situation, we are willing to pay and yet they never even think of broadcasting the event to wider audience. Who's fault is it now? If only they give us a chance to purchase the service, is there any reason we would rather rely on Low Qualtity freeware broadcast? It was all good when there's wob.tv but it was forced to close down. Tons of bulls***!
I will watch through Vision1 Sports, it's confirmed Vision1 to broadcast LIVE WBC 2010 from QF onwards (27th - 29th August 2010)
