Holy ****, Wang Lin played the best badminton of her life during the last weeks...

Does anybody know what kind of injury she's got?

Thanks for the link!

I was so impressed by her performance at the WC! But it seems that it can happen all the time...doesn't matter if you're superfit or not...all the best for her recovery!

yup a guy in my club had his knee crossed ligaments broken.....
dunno if he had a surgery for this but he has to wait until 10/12 months before going on the court again...

I know people going on court two weeks after a similar surgery...but of course you have to be extremely careful...and it's not comparable to the kind of top level badminton training a professional like Wang Lin has to do

google translates (fidget edits)

"I am aware that many people care about my injury situation.

This morning I saw a specialist doctor. The doctor confirmed that the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments are injured. The doctor said that surgery should proceed. Rehabilitation may be six months.

I know that many people are concerned about me, especially my parents. They know I have been very worried about my injury. My family, friends and teammates have been calling and sending greetings to me and I'm really impressed.

The team coaches attach great importance to my injury. They are sending me overseas for treatment. But so far I have not received any notice; only stay in apartment in Beijing, rest quietly. I have been isolated, and Oh, badminton for me, become so far away.

Know you are worried about my feelings, but it's okay. I'm more optimistic. With athletes injuries are always normal. I know that the road rehabilitation will be very hard, but I am not afraid ... all difficulties can be overcome, and I still have so many people who care about me. I will be able to quickly overcome the injuries and come back to where I belongs to my sport! ! !"

A knee is not supposed to physically bend that way. It was brutal... not for the squeamish

Perhaps she missed 1 foot while doing the footwork?

If you noticed she jumped at the forecourt and just lobbed the shuttle to the baseline. It was almost like she was caught by surprise or changed her mind. I expected her to kill the bird from that position. Because of that awkward movement she seemed a touch off balance and twisted so her landing was never going to be good.
