if i were you i wouldnt worry to much about the size, ive traveled with my 9 racquet yonex 1002N before and size wasnt an issue and its 78+36+33.5 = 147.5 obviosuly it wasnt packed and could be compressed down but no issues with size. also i have seen some members of the japan team travel to a tournament before and one guy had that walking off the plane with him.
I personally have traveled on Air China and MAS with the 951W as hand carry luggage on board of the plane. So this 2 airlines are fine with it.
I have travelled from Beijing-Shanghai-Guangzhou with this bag as a hand luggage. They are fine with it. However i need to bargain with the HK officers as they did not allow we to bring this bag and its contain (racket) as a hand luggage on board. But finally i made it through. I travel with Garuda Indonesia. The one that does not allow me to take it on board is a HK luggage inspector. HK inspector is very strict.
I do agree that HKIA's officers are very strict. However some of them will allow you to bring badminton bag on board. I've travelled few times to and from HK..so far no problem bringing any badminton bag on board.
Good news for me I'm traveling with Singapore Air by the way; do you think they will allow me through if I also happen to have about 10 racquets, a 15.6" laptop and several things through to hand carriage?
If you are travelling from Australia.. most likely the Aussie side would prefer you to have it checked in. Domestically in Aust is a must to check in Racket bags. But you can try your luck bring it on board from Australia. However if you are going back to Australia from Singapore side.. no worries... you can bring it on board.
Haha nice try. I have since come back and settle down back in our "Boleh-Land" for good ...no more China. So i am afraid i can't help you much. Try ask around and search in this Buy/Sell section......last time i remembered, someone "prominent" here is selling one brand new 951W .....Hint Hint. Good luck
Just got mine last weekend... Very nice bag, it's like a badminton bag for the executive... big enough for all of your needs.. very different than others... it's like you'r really exclusive.. hahaha at least that is what i feel...
I got lucky as my sister went to japan.. so i ordered from her... at the shop don't have ready stock.. so the guy from the shop ordered it and my sister pick up the bag 4 days later... sorry bro cannot help lah...hahaha
very elegant looking bag. I've checked Fred Perry bags online here in the U.S. but haven't seen anything like that. Do you know where I can purchase it and for how much? Thanks.
Haven't seen it available for a while now. Has to be a 2009 or earlier model ... I believe I spotted it on tennisnuts.com at first but have since looked and wasn't up anymore. Looks like this is the model number: L3141/102 A finished listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...e&rt=nc&si=b%2Bh3lKawfYrnYgLw%2F1PjOSXJOIg%3D
Thanks, Demolidor. All I can see online are barrel bags which I'm not sure if my two rackets even fit. I'm in search for retro-looking bags for badminton. Something like a Peter Black adidas holdall: My best option now is the yonex one. In the mean time, I'll still search for the Fred Perry one.
