2010 Asian Games: Will China clean sweep all the Badminton titles?

The 2010 Asian Games will be held in just 26 days' time.

    At the 2008 Olympic Games, China performed well at Badminton, winning 3 titles, namely;
    * Mens Singles - Lin Dan
    * Womens Singles - Zhang Ning
    * Womens Doubles - Du Jing/Yu Yang

Question: How many Badminton titles can China win at this 2010 Asian Games?

Not a very hard question. Answer is, probably (60% probability?) at least 5, or all 6.
MS - LD is unbeatable on home ground. Will be hard for LCW to repeat his JO feat here unless the likes of PSH can upset LD in the earlier rounds
MD - Neither KKK/TBH nor LYD/JJS have figured out how to handle CY/FHF.
WS - No one capable of stopping the (entire) CHN armada. However it'll be interesting how new star Ratchanok will go in this AG.
WD - No need to discuss
    XD - ???
Team - No other team has sufficient depth to trouble CHN.

2010 Asian Games: Ratchanok Inthanon could have a chance to win the WS title

    .
So you are saying the MS, WS, MD and WD, but not the XD, are the probable titles to China.

Not sure if Saina Nehwal's confidence is still high after performing well lately. She might be the one to capture the WS title from China. I also thought that Ratchanok Inthanon could have a chance to win the WS title too.

CHN clean sweep except for XD and maybe on MS. I think, Tantowi/Natsir will take XD title. MS, TH and LCW will work very hard to win it

can this chinese team make it a clean sweep ? yes they can! will they make it a clean sweep ? i'd say very likely but they have some competition.
ws,wd and team are the events they are almost garunteed a gold. ms ,md and xd golds are up for grabs (but if lin dan shows top form ms is going their way as well).
having said that they still have to perform and all will depend on their fitness and their opponents fitness. i just hope we can have some upsets here.

..gud forbid that dreaded BC's "Who will win?" poll(s) jinx shows up (if anyone believes in that BC poll jinx)..;)
methinks, it's gonna be a sweep..
but if there's one event which i will be surprised if CHN fails to get is the MS gold>>this is LD's to lose..

    SEVEN,

the weakest link out of the 7 should be the Women team but i'm sure after the Uber Cup earlier this year Zhang Ning and Co will not let that slip up again.

My bet is 6, with either XD or MD is loss from CHN hands. Seems like nobody could stop Lin Dan, Wang Xin, & Yu Yang/Wang XL for the titles in MS, WS, & WD respectively.

Skillful players do not need luck to perform well

    .
Perhaps, our admin/moderators are too busy, not finding time to create this poll. :):):)

Talking about jinxing players, I don't believe in it.

Skillful players do not need luck to perform well. They just need to be more prepared and to be more determined to perform their best. They don't depend on luck.

I don't believe that either. one of the reasons of the BC polls was not that accuracy is people sometimes let their heart ruled over their head, and vice versa.

who would you like to win is not quite the same as who do you think will win.

China will win 7 gold medals and most likely 4-5 silvers as well:rolleyes::rolleyes:. Predict an all Chinese MS, anything less than that is consider a failure. Gonna love this statement as I learn it from MAlaysia in commonwealth games :p:p.

According to ctjcad, Lin Dan can control every single rallies:rolleyes::rolleyes:, LD can make everyone eat 21-0 21-0 if he is motivated:rolleyes::rolleyes:. No one from outside of China can beat Wang Xin:rolleyes::rolleyes:, that I can assure you. WD, need me to add more? MD...yet to see anyone beating CY/FHF this year except CM/MB but they are not playing in Asian Games.XD...Without Nova and LYD partnering their best female players, is there even a challenge out there?

Edit: JJS/LYD did beat CY & FYF earlier this year in Korea Open. Forgotten, let see how the Koreans perform this time.

thanks for the correction... i was still in CWG mode where the team competition is mixed.
i'm sure team CHN will leave no stones unturned to avenge their womens team loss in the last UC.

dang... no Ratchanok for the individual WS.
    XD competition looks quite open.

Seems a hyperbolic analysis as you said China will win 7 gold and 5 silver.

I agree if China will still dominate medals (though I myself wish for surprising unintended result this AG).
But, cleaning all gold and silver (individual) is rather impossible.
I am still optimistic that player from other countries can create upset in MS (LCW, Taufik), MD (Kido/Hendra, LYD/JJS, or Fang/Lee), XD, even WS (Saina, BYJ)

WD seems like all China final.
Yu Yang/Wang Xiaoli is best candidate to be champion as they grab last two Super Series in China and Japan.
But, this new pair still need to test. In last two Super Series, they still did not faced strong non China pair

XD. China has He Hanbin/Ma Jin (fresher pair, He Hanbin will have more power than Zheng Bo because of age), but INA also change Nova with Tontowi. They never met before.
