Totally disagree. Please watch the match before you comment on LCW's mental strength today, he fought well in the second game despite being down a game and he also recovered when LD got a streak of points. Running out of gas in the decider... he probably ran out of gas in both the physical aspect and also ran out of ideas to counter LD's godlike retrieval skills.

LCW now is not the same as LCW from OG'08, otherwise he would have lost to Chen Jin when down a game.

LCW played his best but it wasnt good enough to beat Lin Dance... too bad!

LCW makes mistakes because he tried to make perfect shoots against lin dan

Lin Dan net play was superb!

He is just not good enough compared to Lin Dan, in terms of skills and stamina. Period.

I thought that netplay was the deciding factor of the match. Lin Dan just dominated him there. And yup, LCW looks as if he had run out of gas (how rare!)

"CW upped the tempo in the second game as LD appeared to take his foot off the pedal to allow the Malaysian to force a decider.
LD was devastating in the rubber game, leading 11-1 at the game break before romping home for the gold medal." the Star.

IMO LD purposely let go the 2nd game. It is worst for LCW to lose in 3 than in straight games. To get that hope of a chance to win and then have that hope completely squashed in the first half of the decided.

both players at this level currently do have similar skills level/stamina,

probably different slightly from each other.

overall, skills and stamina is just part of winning

if a player has all the skills and stamina it doesn't mean he can win.

As a side note, LCW did mention injury, no enough training, when interviewed by CCTV right after the final games.

Reference: 6:33 of the video on
    http://yayun.cntv.cn/20101121/103963.shtml
    if you can access it.

I wrote down and translated what LCW said in this interview(yes, he speaks Mandarin). Don't blame me if I misunderstood sth.

"Strength declined a little, and could not speed up"

"Do you think you have done your best today?"

"I always do my best. Maybe I haven't practiced much since JO; (I) pulled my leg (so) I haven't practiced much. The rehabilitation was the main job, (so) no intensive works. Speaking these games I always do my best; I think it's not bad to get this result."

"How do you evaluate LD's achievement?"

"I think he really has the abilities. Nothing else needed to say. He is better than me. (But) Sometime it's my performance when on the court" (I think LCW he should've done better than he actually performed when play against LD)

Yeah, one of the reason was the net play. LD was better in this match.

Sorry, I don't know that's why I am here. Maybe you can suggest a few who are available and if BAM is willing to hire and etc...
I mean, LCW will win tournaments if LD doesn't take part and if he is satisfied with this, then retain Misbun but if wants to go one step better and beat LD he needs to look for answers elsewhere. Perhaps another coach, solely to counter LD, on a part time basis?

you sound like lcw never beat lin dan.lol

its just the wrong timing for lcw everytime!

beating lin dan in the wrong tournament

just a bad luck for him this year, wc now ag

come 2011, we shall see more of their matches

    and the difference.

    as for the extra coach

it can't be part time basis la,

it won't work and security reason.

anyway, we can't base on this ag to determine what is best for lcw

because of his physical condition after commonwealth

    and his training preparation.

please read the post before yours.

Yup, but regarding the match himself he said that Lin Dan was better.
