Guys, Thanks for chime in. This is a good discussion.

I do not agree that LCW is known for speed and power though. LCW has no shortcomings, but he lacks some deadly weapons as well. I think Chen Jin's style is much like LCW. LCW is more like a defensive player, and so is Chen Jin.

Chen Long is different. Chen Long is tall with long arms. He naturally has bigger court coverage without speedy running like LCW and LD. Chen Long is also more powerful than BCL. It would be too scary if Chen Long had LD's speed and power smash.....

You're probably right that LCW isn't really known for power and speed, as LD pretty much dominates that area. I should had been clear that, it's what my perception of their game. I like how he can get to the net early to do the tight spinning net drop and then go back and thunder down the smash. Especially is cross court smash.

In your view, if LCW's game is not power and speed, then what would it be?

Back to CL, I still don't think he's on par with CJ, but he's still young so there's time to develop. However, ofcourse he'll be the force to recond with in the next 2 -3 year, that's because his senior are getting old and probably big names like LD, LCW, and TH will retire after the next Olympic Games.

I think CL and CJ are only a hair apart now. The problem is those Chinese players do not go to tournaments often, otherwise we would tell which one is better. I think they are close, but I do not have a lot of data to back me up. It is just my feel. CL is tall with long arms, even if he does not look fast, he still have big court coverage.

LCW, power is definitely not his strength. Speed, probably. If LCW had strength, he would have more titles. That's probably the only thing he loses to LD.

I don't think there's many players out there that can be compared to LD in the power area. But I do think that LCW only comes in second to LD in the power area for men's singles.

2010 Hong Kong Open SS: Chen Long-vs-Taufik Hidayat at the Semi-Finals

    .
Now that Chen Long has arrived at the semi-finals, I am sure many would want to see him win the HK Open SS. It's only a few more hours before we know if he can make it into the finals.

I think if Taufik cannot defeat Chen Long in 2 games, Chen Long will most likely be able to defeat him.

More like LCW lost to LD because LD practically controlled the whole net area.
