Faisal/Eka beat TPE pair in 2 sets.. So it will be All INA Final in BD U-17.. Faisal/Eka will meet Kevin/Arya in final.
Ina fail to create all Ina final in GD U-19 after Maya/Mega lost 3 set to HKG Pair. In the final, Aris/Dian will meet this HKG pair.
Overall..this is INA representatives in final : BS U11 Hongfei Lut GS U15 : Lya Ersalita BD U13 Aditya/Reza BD U17 Kevin/Arya and Eka/Faizal GD 17 Shela/Angia BD U19 Selvanus/Haswir GD U19 Aris/Dian
Im rooting shela/angia to nail the GD U17 title here...Shela/Angia quite dominating GD in Sirnas earlier of this year, they have won Sirnas Balikpapan,Sirnas Manado,Sirnas Siliwangi and Runner up at Sirnas Pekanbaru. But recently they are overshadowed by aris/dian,gloria/nurbeta in sirnas.
Shella Devi Aulia/Anggia Shitta Awanda are juniors to Aris Budiharti/Dian Fitriani, so, I don't think u can use the word "overshadowed". Both pairs have a good chance of winning titles tomorrow. Aris/Dian are serial winners of Taruna themselves, while Shella/Anggia are the serial winners of Remaja. I am hoping that Selvanus Geh/Haswir Sahab can also win the title in U-19. If they win, there's a big chance they will get sent to the AJC & WJC next year. I think Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Arya Maulana Aldiartama can also beat Hafiz Faizal/Putra Eka Rhoma for their first international title albeit in the juniors and without ranking pts some more. The results here also show that INA has plenty of good talents in BD (as Krisna mentioned). So, I am personally not worried even if they cannot win the AJC or WJC title. It's their progress in the senior set-up that is more important! AJC and WJC winning pairs will eventually be split up if the coaches think that there are better partners, such as Angga Pratama/Rendy Sugiarto. Angga is now pretty much settled with Rian Agung Saputro, while Rendy will still need to find a better partner.
she's a very small girl but managed to defeat her towering thai opponent. a fighter indeed. Did Shella/Anggia and Aris/Dian switch age groups? I thought Shella/Anggia looked older than the petite Aris/Dian. And Shella/Anggia are BIG Kevin/Arya played with more urgency in their semi-finals win against Rifan/Panji and their defence was excellent. Good luck to the Djarum pair!
Nope....I have checked their profile again and indeed, Shella/Anggia (both born in 1994) are younger than Aris/Dian (both born in 1993). I made a mistake of commenting that Shella/Anggia were competing in Remaja this year....it should be last year! This year, they did win 3 Sirnas titles in Taruna, while Aris/Dian won 3. Ririn/Melati won 2 and Aulia/Deariska won 1. However, Aris/Dian dominated the other domestic events, which culminated in the Kejurnas 2010 title at the end of Nov. I would say that Shella/Anggia and Dian/Aris would be our best GD pairs in the age group 16 and 17.
The results here also show that the regeneration in Singles is not as good as Doubles. But, we did not send our best juniors in U17 (Fikri Ikhsandi, R. Eka Fajar Kusuma) and U19 (Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo, Panji Akbar Sudrajat, and the 3 Djarum boys) here! Riyanto and Vito are still competing in the India GP and later on India IC next week.

Today's Finals will be contested in 18 events for U11 to U19 among 36 contestants. Indeed THA has the most number of finalists as the following summary will show: THA 11, INA 8, MAS & SIN 6 each, HKG 2 and I each for PHi, TPE & IND. Perhaps TPE is the most disappointed as it has a big contingent. Did I see for the time that INA has a very young player in BSU11 using his Chinese name? Will this be a trend to come? The PHI has made quite an impact with a very creditable performance so far with their GSU17 Venice Alcala claiming the title over SIN's Liang Xiaoyu. *And Escueta & Magnaye were unlucky not to have prevailed over INA's prolific pair of Selvanus & Haswir in BDU 19. But it has to be THA & INA to share the spoils.
2 titles for INA and 1 more at stake after Anggia Shitta Awanda/Shella Devi Aulia won the GD U-17 title. Too bad Selvanus Geh/Haswir Sahab lost the BD U-19 Final. All the Singles players also lost, plus the BD U-15 pair.
Impressive year for aris/dian,after winning some sirnas title, now they won the GD 19 SIY title also And also congrats for Shela/Anggia winning the GD U17 title.
Congrads to Huang Chao winning his title . I hope he can be the next big thing in singapore badminton soon . Hope Spore can dont call him for NS. or else he will waaste his 2 yrs there without training . and gone be his skills
So the year ended with a snapshot of the regions's young badminton talents. As expected THA, INA & MAS came up tops. Suffice to say that this is not a complete picture as no players came from other powerhouses like CHN, KOR, JPN and DEN. But for now, THA seems to be on the right track leading with 8 titles, followed by INA 3, MAS 3, SIN 2, HKG 1 and PHI 1. On a personal note, it is gratifying to see so many young talents converging in Singapore during these December holidays. I hope they have enjoyed themselves and got to know more friends.
Yes indeed Monfort Sec also took in some of INA's young talents in the past, some of whom went on to futher their studies overseas (Christian in the US?) and some returned home to play for their clubs and maybe some were accepted into Pelantas. It is a good arrangement as these boys contribute to raising the standard of play in Singapore and some even represented SIN at regional and international tournaments. In return they get an education in Singapore and exposure to competitions. The BSU19 finalist, Andrianus Adi Prosojo (seeded #1) who lost to Huang Chao (#2) is another Montford graduate.
