Maybe they are trying to promote the league to countries outside of China? Able to see players from different nation pairing together is another thing that is making the league interesting. Hopefully next year they will include more foreign players. Like LYD/FHF vs KKK/Kido??
As far as I can tell, the official language of CBSL is Chinese. It wouldn't make much sense to use English as these matches are currently presented to Chinese audience only. The badminton officiating announcements seem standardized and use a very limited vocabulary. It should be easy to learn enough Chinese for playing badminton in CBSL. There is really no need to make the announcements in English. KKK does not need it. I understand that MK and HS don't speak much English. Should the games be broadcast overseas, there will certainly be English commentators.
At most international tournaments, scores are mostly scored in English . IMHO, Badminton, an English originated game, is best to announce the scores in English. At most international tournaments, scores are mostly scored in English. Same as for Tennis. Good for us BCers too (as English is the language for our forums). .
I too am unable to copy all their different styles of playing . Me too. I am a fan of many players, but I too am unable to copy all their different styles of playing. .
CBSL is a domestic league, not an international tournament. Scores are announced in French at the French Open.
The use of English scoring must solely be for the benefit of the non-CHN players. But I suppose they could easily look at the scoreboard to ascertain the score.
Hard to tell. There is a rule that the each team can only use A-Class players in no more than two matches and Pre-A or A-Class players in no more than three matches. Hunan has good doubles teams. Hunan may choose to use all three of their doubles pairs with A and Pre-A players. BCL did not play LD for exactly this reason. CL is no LD. If Hunan feels BCL has a better chance to win than one of their doubles pairs, they may play BCL and give up one of the doubles matches.
oh i c.. thanks for the analysis.. i need to know because i'm contemplating whether to go watch this sat's match.. haha bao chun lai is sort of my only motivation to go.. haha
I'd say there is 75% chance that BCL will play. For reasons that He did not play the last match. Against CL, not a sure win but but not a sure loss either. Hunan may want to give Zheng Bo a break. Shanghai's WD sucks and Hunan can use 2nd tier pair.
Shanghai's WD sucks . Shanghai's WD sucks. Seriously, I cannot understand why Shanghai cannot produce stronger WD pairs, when there are so many good woman players there (especially in the WS department). .
The teams are private clubs, and do not necessarily hire players from the club's province, though they tend to. BCL is from Hunan, CJ from Jiangsu and WZM from Guangdong, but Wang Xin is not from Shandong, LD of course not from the army, Lu Lan from Guangdong, etc. It would be nice to know more on the hiring process, how the clubs constitutes their team and how the players respond.
