Yes it does if you string high tension or hit too hard or hit offcenter too much. It has good durability for me because I am not a power hitter, and do not mishit much, despite stringing it at 27lbs.
ZM62 has good durability. I have ZM62 strung on my Victor IW5000 @ 23 lbs and it lasted more than 2 months, comparable to BG66M. The surface is rougher than any Yawnicks string in the market thus better control. My friends Z-Slash is also strung with ZM62@24lbs. It is a month already and still very playable. BTW, we played badminton more than 3 times a week. People on this form are bunch of liars. Test out yourself before committing to a large order.
This Panda is thoroughly convinced it's whether or not there are any mishits involved. Panda was using an UPro, 86.5g, BP295 with ZM62 at 29lbs. smashing with the same racket for may sessions and ZM62 didn't break... ...then Panda picked up a Trinity Pro, 83.0g, BP280 with ZM62 at 22lbs. and one mishit backhand drive in 5 minutes and the string popped. Similar situations have happened to Panda quite a few times so the key is not to mishit. Of course it's easier said than done.
my zm62 @ 25lbs on my vic bs11 lasted me for 5 sessions of 2 hours each. when it was in service.... opp boy.. what power! what sound...
i have popped a newly strung ZM62 by just doing lifting drills. no mishit. lasted a total of 10 mins.
Do you all notice the main string normally breaks Probably between 10 to 2 o'clock area I have given up this zm62
give BG66UM a try. i have a friend who strings it at 29lbs and he hits way harder than me and he claims it lasts at least a month. the feel is pretty close to ZM62.
Ok will give it a try for my game play rackets only and definitely not on those rackets for feeding Bg65 @ 28lbs every 10-14 days, 2 of them breaks
yes. and unfortunately the diff between ZM62 and other (thicker) string is that ZM62 is not able to stand a mishit. the first ZM62 having lasted 3 months for Janet, she came back twice in the past 2 weeks breaking the ZM62 on the 1st/2nd day. now i think i will just keep stringing it for her. more excuses for stringing practice.
Unfortunately it is just not cost effective for me. I am tempted to try ZM67, but I have a feeling that I will just stick with what I know, and go for BG80.
Do you actually hit the shuttle in these sessions ? How can you make it last so long ? And no, we are not liars, it's the truth, durability is very poor with this string. I have never managed to break a string within 2 weeks... Until I tried ZM62.
Same here. I found that I was spending too much time re-stringing with ZM 62 so I opted to go back to BG-80. Weird thing: The ZM 62 (white) broke more frequently than ZM 62 (grey). The grey string actually lasted almost a month while the white broke every session.
i tried out some zm 67 it was ok but i prefer bg66, i am not a big string breaker so next time i order string i will try some zm62, how would it compare to bg66 um
This is my impression as a mediocre player that only plays a couple of hours per week. I love Zymax 62, I really enjoy playing with it. Recently, I broke 3 or 4 strings in the space of a couple of weeks and I was a bit annoyed with that. I think I broke one on a clear, one on a net kill and one on a lift...... Anyway, I think Zymax 62 ends up lasting a couple of months for me playing once per week for couple of hours (at 23 or 24 pounds). That is if I don't break it with a mis-hit early on. To me that is acceptable, and I like stringing with zymax 62, it is so easy.
Man I don't know about you guys, but I have strung my TPro with ZM62 at 28lbs and it hasn't broken yet. I play 3-4 times per week, about 3hrs per session. It's been 3 weeks already. I'm about to cut it because 28lbs is a bit too much for me.
I'm with Laowai and dimcorner, my ZM62 usually drops by 2-3lbs (beyond initial post-stringing tension drop) before it will break. I usually have to cut it out actually.
I agree with the mis-hits 100%. But I end up smashing quite a bit when I play and I don't pop strings on smashes usually. Maybe I'm just weak sauce and need to buff up
