    I see that the US is at level 2 in group 2B. So what happens if they win the group ? Do they get promote to play in level 1 or just play group 2A winner ? In other word, what's the best that the US team can achieve in this tournament ? Good luck to them all.

    Teams can only play against other teams of the same group

    .
    Teams can only play against other teams of the same group.

    If a team becomes the winner of the group, then the team will be promoted to the next group (at the next Sudirman Cup).

    Have a look at how it was run/organised for the 2009 Sudirman Cup located at;

    It's unlucky that Lee Hock Lai got injured so close to the Surdiman Cup, hopefully he can recover in time for the USGPG2011

    Lee Hock Lai: Who is now playing for the USA

    .
    Yes, we have forgotten about Lee Hock Lai (who is now playing for the USA).

    It is expected that Lee Hock Lai is able to help in the Mixed Doubles for the USA team, if he plays.

    His performance with Priscilla Lun (as recorded by tournamentsoftware) is OK;

    He is out for atlest 6 months is what I heard.
    Sam and Vincent needs to "up" thier game a little bit. Their records have been dissappointing lately.

    Apparently the Spanish Open is more important than the Sudirman Cup:

    Netherlands:
    Mannen: Rune Masssing, Saber Afif, Jorrit de Ruiter, Dave Khodabux en Jacco Arends
    Vrouwen: Patty Stolzenbach, Josephine Wentholt, Ilse Vaessen, Samantha Barning en Iris Tabeling

    #1 doubles pairs Bosch/Ridder and Dooremalen/Jonathans not going, playing Spanish Open instead :rolleyes:

    Are those Canadian players at Spanish Open not in the Sudirman squad either?

    Good choice for Bosch/Ridder, another 4000 points to the OG12 points tally.:)

    Lee Hock Lai is out for 6 months injured, not sure when he will be back:(

    Yes quite surprising how many players aren't in their countries Sudirman squad and instead playing here. I see Spain haven't even bothered to send a squad as have Estonia :D.
    Was wondering indeed how many points you can even get at an International relative to a Grand Prix etc. So 4000 for the winner? I think the WD have an even bigger shot at that :cool: ... I guess not many points below Group 1 to be gained in the Sudirman?

    AFAIK:
    GPG: 7000
    GP: 5000
    International Challenge: 4000
    International Series: 2500
    Future Series: 1800 (I think)

    thank goodness USA aren't sending Phillip Chew, otherwise, they wouldn't have much chance.
