MAS players have the skills and the motivation. But it s very difficult to sustain that when they are frustrated most of the time by insufficient tournament opportunities made worse by haphazard or no planning. That s why the back up players still have to play qualifying at every SS . You can t get anywhere or prove how good you really are, when you re disadvantaged by having played two matches by the time you meet a fresh opponent in the main draw.
There s no way to compare how good THA WS are versus MAS WS until TJY has the same number of tournament exposure. How about comparing how many tournaments RI has competed in compared to TJY? I wouldn't be surprised if RI has twice or even 3x more tournament experience than TJY. Because BAM( or the CTC) are brainless , if not brain dead.

So Russia joins 2 other European countries exiting from Sudirman Cup.

The two 2009 semifinalists are through to the last 8. Although both are significantly weaker than 2 years ago.

Meanwhile, it is still very open between India and Thailand
