Nitya form after injury is still not that good. Head to head against Japan in the past is not very indicative. Japan WD now is good technically and stamina is top notch.

From the lower tier groups, who will get the promotion? Just wondering about the system. The highest two seeds? Or only the highest seed? Should they have any playoff matches with the lowest seeds from the higher tiers?

I believe the winner between FRA and SIN will be promoted. They won their respective groups in Level 2. The remainder of Level 2 will play for finishing positions.

Must admit Canada has done much better than I expected. Totally delighted. They will play HKG for 15th/16th place. Hoping for an encouraging performance to wrap up their successful appearance.

The seeding for this year & future Sudirman Cup will be based on the ranking of the players of all department (MS, WS, MD, WD, MX). That's why China is seeded 1st because of their players is no 1's in the ranking @ in the top 10. So twelve teams with the most points will move into group 1 during the seeding process. Others will be included in the group 2 , 3 & 4. No promotion will be involved.

Thanks for the explanation. Makes more sense as teams earn their positions in group 1.

Ooo, I see. Thanks for the explanation. I thought the system is like the Davis Cup in tennis. I am curious about Australia. They seem doing well in Group 3 so I want them to move up :D .

well base on head to head record its very big chance for ina team to win it

simon has a fairly good record against jap players (both tago & sasaki)

alvent/hendra just won against hashimoto-hirata on mas gp this month even with a very tight match..fielding ahsan-alvent not a bad choice also

so in paper INA should win it 3-1 / 3-2...but you'll never know :D..japan players got a very good result lately :)

Hey, Sho Sasaki is in good trend, and last time he defeated Simon at Thomas Cup in 3 sets.
I think the game will go either way at all discipline.

Japan strong enough and has good trend for MS, WD, WS lately...so INA should field Simon, Greys/Nitya and Firda....If INA can take point one of those departments (MD and XD will goes to INA), INA will face Denmark in SF. AYO INA pasti Bisa...through to SF (as PBSI's target)...

I don't think fielding Nitya with Greysia or Anneke will not be a good decision. After her injury, she hasn't shown any good performances in several tournaments. Looks like the decision is just based on bad record of Greys/Mel against Maeda/Suetsuna. I think Greys/Mel still better pair than Nitya/Anneke or Grace/Nitya, unless the coach will give away this match for Anneke's training just like fielding Hayom against Chong Wei

    XD : agree
MD : Alvent/Hendra beat the Japanese number 1 MD at MAS GP gold but putting Hendra who is debutant in Sudirman Cup is risky.
    MS : agree, no choice
WD : give Mel/Polii a chance to amend and break the losing streak, they are the best INA WD pair at the moment but I think this is almost mission impossible
WS : again no choice. Firda is the one that can give close fight with Eriko

If WD will be played as last match, slim chance for TPE to steal point.

According to BWF news article : http://www.bwfbadminton.org/news_item.aspx?id=49284 FRA vs SIN match will be played to determine 13th position. Looks like no promotion/demotion system in current SC

I doubt that this time in MS Jan Jorgensen will represent DEN other than Peter Gade.
In WS, i think that would be Tine vs CSC other that TTY.
