Booking In List for Wednesday CCC at MSAC 22-Jun-2011: We shall keep our court-time . We shall keep the same number of 10.50 court-hours although our collection would not cover the cost of the court hire. Remember: Court hire is $18.50 per hour. We hope the many listed as maybe (in the Reserve List) might be able to attend. ================================================ Please try to keep our cost down by following our CCC Shuttlecock Policy; CCC Shuttlecocks Policy: If the shuttlecock is still good for our next game, place it under the net (in the middle of the court). CCCers please be reminded that: * Our players' charges are dependent on our club's expenses. * We don't need a new shuttlecock to start every new game. If we need to spend more on shuttlecocks, the cost will be passed on to the our players. Therefore, at the end of your game, if the shuttlecock is still good, please place it under the net (in the middle of the court). The next group of players (in the next game) should warm up with older used shuttlecocks. Whilst I myself have put myself down in Reserve and did book past the 7:30am Tuesday cutoff, at this stage I still cannot be certain of attending due to factors beyond my control. I do still encourage you to stick to your guns, ensure that the club breaks even money wise, and be fair to those booked in before the cut off. if you cut off the booking as you've said (7:30am tuesday) you're accounting for 12 definates. based on your previous statements 14 players 3 tubes, 6 court hours 20 players 4 tubes, 8 court hours 26 players 5 tubes, 10 court hours so why retain 10.5 court hours when only 12 definates booked in? cost wise you're taking in $144, but spending $254.25. If you would like to retain the same profit/loss margin I'm sure most attendees wouldn't mind you reducing the court hours (given only 12 booked in) and then reducing the attendance fee. eg session charges $10 each, and reduce court hours to 8.5. (intake $120, expenditure $217.25 works out better than $254.25 - $144)
In terms of reserves, I think a good idea would be to book the courts with the assumption that half the reserevs will turn up (which is usually the case anyway). so for example we have 5 reserves this week, that means we can expect/predict that about 2-3 would turn up so we can adjsut the numbers accordingly. i think it's pretty fair. thoughts???
