I think the use of social-media marketing [including the face-painting-photo competition on facebook], collaboration with non-sport media [such as Feminagroup, who owns Gadis, Femina, and Men's Health], massive advertising push [online+offline], multiple pre-event activities [celebrity smash, car-free day badminton demonstration, quality of world-class participants, along with other improvements really gave this IO a huge boost... :)

There is still another hope for massive improvements in 2012... an upgraded Istora! ....which will include a sports-bar, 12000 seat stadium [now only 7000], multiple videotrons etc... Basically, 'USA level' upgrades...

wah good news then...sadly indonesia as badminton crazy nations lack of world class indoor stadium :( (not just for badminton)

too much attention for football with BIG zero result..which is now in two years start massive developing 5 big stadium (with 2 finished + 3 still under construction)

On a more serious note, those people in the costumes most have been boiling hot.

Should have been there with my camera :(

I agree but I think it's going to be very difficult for PG to overcome LD & LCW.
    He'll be 36 next year!

I wish I was there, and everything Miksss said in his post seems true. But to make an even better event in the future, I would like the organization to do something about
    1) the drift. It was too strong, in many match the player facing the wind winning systematically the game. I don't know if there is something they can do about it.
    2) Camera work. The camera was too far from the court, there were very rare variation of angle (specially the ground view, at player-level that gives such a feeling of being with the player!) and too few and too short replays. Players walk between rallies and there is time for a lot of slow-motion.
Well, even though the event was a great success, perhaps there are still room for improvement!

I feels like in the stadium when INA players gonna enter the stadium from the tunnel during the final. The lighting and the song and the crowd was superb as usual. It's just like the entrance of a WWE superstars to the ring:D.

Hope i can experience this kind of atmosphere very soon:cool:

Georgie, you can never feel like in the stadium, without actually being in the stadium in the first place. Whatever you see or hear on TV is magnified, say, 10X.
