    2011 World Championships: Lin Dan has been unfit

    .
    So, the article says;

    This is not the first time that Lin Dan has been unfit going into a tournament.

    Let's see how Lin Dan can perform in a few hours' time.

    I believe that even though LD is not 100% fit, he should play better than many other players. :):):)

    Guess the Iron Buddha (SS) still has a lot of training to do before he passes the litmus (LD) test.

    LD might be 80% physically but it's the 100% mental fitness that seeps into his opponent's heads. Hence, he can cut anyone for size as he tramples the draws barring team orders.

    I'm a great fan of Lin Dan but I'm afraid his best days are over, especially after winning the Beijing Olympics gold medal, he has lost motivation having won all that is to win in badminton except to retain the Olympic title next year. He seem to have peaked and often struggled to beat his rivals - just look how hard he has to play to overcome Sho Sasaki (to whom he lost in the Indonesia Open) and Peter Gade in this World Championship.

    Contrast this with Lee Chong Wei who continues to improve and is very hungry to win every match and tournament, look how he almost always trounced his world-class opponents, on many occasions conceding only 10 points or thereabouts. No wonder Morten Frost, though acknowledging Lin Dan to be one of the greatest the world has ever known , now predicts Lee C W to win this world championship and next year's London Olympics.

    Probably it is because Lin Dan hasn't won in all tournaments. This is why Lin Dan is still ranked No.2 in the world (according to our Badminton Ranking system).

    But for MAJOR tournaments, I am sure that most of us would elect him as our champion. :):):)

    Exactly! Afterall, we are all granted our entitlement. We stand by who we like, meanwhile we can't really impose it upon everyone else. That is actually cool, to have each our own separate biases. 'nuff said.

    Congrats to LD. I think it's impossible to question his status as the best badminton player of all time :)
