Wang SX 's 16 smash winners against Wang Xin's 7? Are they overhead winners which include clears not just smashes? I just don't believe Wang Shixian can or will smash so many times and scores as well because 1) she hardly smashes and 2) her smash is more like placement shot with no power. Anyway, I've got to watch the matches to ascertain the truth.

Marc Zwiebler (Germany) Lin Dan is above Lee Chong Wei because of his recent victory at the World Championships but only by a whisker. i have thought about Marc Zwiebler initially and his incredible spirit but he did lost to Pablo Abian (Spain) in a gruelling 3-set encounter who in turn lost to Kevin Cordon (also in 3 sets) who eventually got whipped & brought crashing down to earth by none other than Datuk Lee. In addition, Marc recently lost to Nguyen Tien Minh in the US Open 2011. But then Taufik is absolutely hopeless and quite a disappointment to his country and people of late. i hope he bucks up quickly to spare his country from further embarrassment or retire altogether. to see the once mighty indonesians having to accommodate such an unmotivated but talented player like taufik is painful and sad. On a good day, Marc can definitely beat anyone in the said ranking upto and including Peter Gade in my books. last but not least - just to put the issue to rest, i'm pretty sure (and even kevin gordon himself knows damn well) that his victory over chen long last month in england is but a flash in the pan and that he would most likely be able to repeat it again in his dreams. ymmv.

No, actually I agree both with your ranking and your reasoning while both SS and MZ have the ability to upset anyone in the list on a good day with a bit of luck, they're not as consistent as anyone else in their play. Marc's loss to Pablo Abian was both a surprise and a testament to that. I hope he learns from it and can go to the Olympics in top shape... Taufik seems to have lost all motivation. He played great in the 2010 WC, but this year, I haven't seen him play a single great match or even one good tournament. Just the opposite of LCW, who is brimming with passion and played great in any tournament he attended. Good to see he selects a bit more carefully now. I'd really like to see a repeat of the 08 final next year, with LCW winning - but knowing LD, he will get in top shape for that one tournament and hide much of his ability before the final. Of course, there's also the possibility he is not as dominant anymore as he's made out to be and his loss against CJ was no team order - but most will seriously doubt that
