Lin Dan's task given by LYB is to win against CJ closely so that CJ gets more points rather than LD winning by a wide margin and less points given to CJ. Then throw the game to CL also, but probably by a wide margin so CL gets more points.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Shizuka Matsuo / Mami Naito vs. Bao Yixin / Zhong Qianxin next.

PG wins the match, 21-14, 21-15. barring any upset, surprise or injury, LCW is going to win tomorrow's match.

as for LD, maybe he wants to avenge last year's defeat to LCW.

I have never heard of this system of counting points. You get points by the stage you reach, that's it.

Peter's regularity is quite astonishing. This guy will stroll round and round in his living room after retirement.

And compared to CJ, CL can fight LCW much better. Just recall their last match in Indonesia SS. As for LD escape, it's Sun Tzu! Wait till OG 2012 :D

Right on ! If, and a very big IF, LD beats CL, I am willing to let all BCers kick my backside and spit on me.

i just know that the wide or close margin in a win/lost DOES AFFECT the WR points... is it true

I don't think today's match between LD and CJ was fixed, because there is still CL after. So the team decision is only relevant in the SF. If the outcome was so close in this match it is because LD is not so motivated, CJ is a good player (to say the least) and they know each other so well.
I am not even sure tomorrow's match will be fixed, as for CHN team CJ-LCW and CL-LCW are both interesting. Probably LYB will tell the players to fight in the first game only, so to keep good legs for whoever wins it.
    >IMHO I think it is wiser to let CJ face LCW. He is still better then CL.

I do not agree. Indonesia SS means little. But the Asian game was a big event, and CJ pushed LCW for a rubber in the SF.

Peter Gade, he is not called Mr Evergreen for nothing. If only Lin Dan can emulate him on longevity.

As far as I know, match points don't count, only sets won or loss if there is a tie in group matches; otherwise, it is only match won or lost that matters, irregardless two straight games or three-setters. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    quite exciting actually.

the raw sound coming from close to the court definitely helps the excitement.
