    Congrats to CL!

Not matter what one can say about LCW, CL won this one fair and square, and in convincing fashion!

That's because Lin Dan had a shoulder injury when 22 years old ;) It put him out of the game for half a year or more if I am not mistaken.

Looks like now it's LCW's second SS silver medal in a row, both courtesy of CL

Different LCW, the difference not on technical. On CL's side he has improved

IMO to say like that is too much... LCW is still a GREAT player, and so far ONLY TWO players (LD & CL) who are able to beat him ;)

    .
For LCW wishing to win the 2012 Olympic Games title, losing twice in a row to CL could prove to be a good thing.

He has to prepare better from hereon; now that he knows of 2 very difficult opponents to beat, not just LD alone.

I feel sorry for Chong wei, his loss I attribute more to his nerves than waning skills. But,to be fair,Chen Long played above expectation yet again and certainly deserves to win. How many people can make CW nervous, only the very few who can rattle him and match up to his skill. For the past few years, he feared only the formidable Lin Dan,his nemesis, while routing and sweeping aside everyone else with disdain.

Now, a new Super Star is born: The Little Dragon, Chen Long! And,the frightening part is,this young dragon will continue to grow!

From now on,the top echelon of badminton is Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei and Chen Long - no one else comes close.

so CL has quiet down the critics for now. only time will tell if he is able to continue keeping LCW at bay. and most importantly can he do that till August next year.

but what we cannot deny is that China now has two chips against their biggest threat LCW while LCW is a one man show.

[IMG] They're a little caught up in the moment :). I mean Lin Dan was the world number 1 long before he was 22, even at the AE 2004 he was still 20. I mean I like Chen Long the best of the rest to follow in Lin Dan's footsteps (ever since I had a good look at Swiss Open 2010 match vs Chen Jin), who wouldn't drool over such a physical specimen but better than Lin Dan? ;)
Still not seeing the WZM hype though ...

Agree, Lee CW's time is not over yet; too early to write him off. His greatest enemy is himself. In terms of skill and talents, these 3 are about equal.

yeah come on...he lost 2 FINALS, it´s not like he lost in semis or even qf. But it really seems like 1. he has a mental block against cl and ld or 2. ld and cl can proof their best performance in the most important matches like og / wc / ssp finals!!

The key to Chen Long's win today as in the JPN Open is his ability to anticipate many of LCW's shots.

The Chinese badminton team is a big team. Many people's job is to do analyses on foreign players.

I won't be surprised, from now on, even Lin Dan got to be wary of Chen Long
