It's past midnight. Can someone change the thread title to "2011 French Open SS: Round 1 Wed 26-October and early Thu 27 October"?

YE GODS! I'm back and they're still playing. Of note LHI is leading LD 17-16 in G2

The arena will be quieter place without WSX around. What a massive upset. She's another player who's been slipping lately.

When I saw Zavadsky last year, I thought his head looked too big for his body :) definitely past his bed time though:) and probably Fang/Wang's bed time, isn't it like 06:00am in Taipei now ?:p

demolidor, I was talking to one of your favourite players tonight, guess who?:p

I was hoping to see more from the quaintly named Spaniard M..Jolly Lee. Unfortunately she and her French partner got blasted off the court by merciless Japanese. :p

LD at match point 22-21... and he takes it. LHI had 2 match points but obviously squandered them.

LD 21-17, 23-21. He might be out of gas by the time he reaches the QF and therefore has to conveniently surrender a W/O to CJ.

Come on LD, don't do it. Rebel against authority.

Kim KI Jung and the lovely Jung Kyung Eun take G1 easily 21-11. G2 is a tighter affair. 7-7

OK, all right then... here's a bright one for you, too... :D

I wonder why they choose to send Pan-Pan
When we all want to give her a ban.
    She ain't got a clue
As to what she should do,
And she certainly ain't got a fan.

but the Germans took the second set. Just saw that Kim KI Jung will also be in "tomorrow's" first match, starting in only 9 and a half hours.

And the Koreans win 21-19. Kim Ki Jung better pack up and head straight to the hotel. He's got the first match of R2 against BoMo no less

That's it. Day 1 is finally over.

4 retirements, 3 involving CHN WS players, and not even against their own compatriots.
