how does these players who speaks no English get pass immigration? I heard quite a number of people tried to enter Europe but speak no English got turn back for the fear they might become illegal workers?
You think they would still rather be badminton world champ by then or football world champion. TV = sponsorship money. No exposure no money plain and simple. It is the non-badminton playing crowd you need to attract to grow financially (or is everyone in the West a F1 driver and everyone in China a basketball player ?). I don't know where it is growing healthily because all the numbers are down in Europe. Is it growing in the already saturated Asian market? If and when it loses Olympic status do you think it will still be on the sports agenda?

I guess some just wanna treat the badminton as a lucrative industry.. money money...when one mentions about professionalism, it implies its well-being as an industry, how big the money involved there etc. talking about popularity, surely it's still quite popular in ASIA. As for Europe i ain't sure...yet again read my earlier post.. it just like egg and chicken. //Edit: there's market that one may not be able to switch! (for instance, i won't watch football just because there's no badminton to watch, lol surely such fondness applies to other many folks) badminton WC will exist, along with any other major sports incl football. Btw for instance do you see that table tennis is dying? In term of popularity (i mean how big the money involved there), it really depends on who masters what, whether it lies within the center of gravity or not!
I'm not so pessimistic, China will never let badminton lose its status and lustre, and China is an economic powerhouse, the second largest economy in the world now, with the largest forex reserve.
Even if you speak no English, if you have the money and/or the talent they want, which country won't accept you,unless you're a political liability to them?

Do not say never. The market is very competitive. If CBSL is not successful, other sports can take the market. NBA, NFL, NHL etc will all compete for this new market. If badminton only count on olympic, it may lose popularity in China when other new sports catch up.
