Ok, honestly speaking, I do no believe for a moment that we can win the Thomas Cup.
And yes, with the current state of things, qualifying will be difficult. But we shouldn't just throw in the towel like that. Only BAM does that.
I really hope the players get angry with BAM comments about it being no big deal if they don't qualify, and shove it down BAM's throat, defy the expectation and play like Harimaus to qualify.

Historically, Thomas Cup has united our nation in a way that nothing else can. If we can't even qualify for the finals, then what hope is there left for Malaysian badminton?
Maybe Ants in post #54 does have a point. Maybe if they do fail to qualify, that will actually stimulate some real changes in BAM and Ministry of Sports/National Sports Council.
It still doesn't hide the fact that it will be a sad, sad day for the country if we really do fail to qualify.:(

If Thomas Cup is not that important to BAM then which tournament does it care about? Ask if they care about All England, ABC, Sudirman Cup, I guess none of these matters anymore.
I am sure it would be a crisis if Italy were to miss World Cup qualifying or LA Lakers were to miss NBA playoff.
I hope BAM sees this as a national crisis, declare a state of emergency, and do something to fix it.

yes i think badminton .. more than football has consistently united malaysians as one.. witness.. malaysians of all races boooed and jeered at kkk and tbh in all of their recent games.. and malaysians of all races threw stuff and insults..at fairuzizuan and zakry not too long ago...

BAM should accept the responsibility of the failure

    .
When Badminton is doing well for Malaysia, BAM want the credit.

When not doing well, BAM should accept the responsibility of the failure.

The players are easy targets, defenseless and they just keep quiet for people to lay scorn on...no one dare to shoot arrows at politicians or the 3 stooges at BAM.

NCC is a very honest chap...he did tell the truth when he said OLY gold is more realistic to attain and important than TC when MAS chances is zilch of winning TC.
But NCC is saying this not to his fellow malaysians, he is saying to himself because if LCW wins OLY gold, NCC scores bigtime bonus and a datukship too. Since MAS chance of winning TC is kaput, no bonus, no fun.;)

This year supposed is election year. Then sports minister also will change, start all over again. BAM, at most, change President(who dont much anyway). Coach and players will take the blame, as usual.

Men team in, women team out.

Therefore, BAM no need to worry about missing Thomas Cup Finals, but need to concentrate of streigthening women force...

Well, women doubles show better progress thanks to Rexy, however women single again turn the weakest since Wong Mew Choo retired...
