She won the U-17 final, beating the winner from last year. At 15 years old, she's a promising star for the Philippine team! How far can she go? I recently heard about that Thai girl Ratchanok, who already has a Super Series title at 16. That's a phenomenal (and unheard of) achievement at that age, so I expect Malvinne will have a more conventional development as a pro.

Nope, Ratchanok hasn't won a Super Series title yet but she has won 2 back-to-back GP and GP Gold titles!

She is talented for sure. Another girl to watch out for is Bianca Carlos in the Philippine badminton scene.

hope so,but i heard that the Phil.B.A. still don't have program for venice alcala for this year, and her world ranking is going down from ranked 97 to ranked 135.if she still not joining any tournaments this first quarter of the year maybe it will become worst..so the Phil.B.A. must do something about it and they should monitor or aware about the world ranking of the Phil.team players specially to their top players like venice alcala.

FYI: venice alcala won back to back the 2011 Lin-Ning singapore junior int'l series (2010-2011) UGS 17.and also her brother mark shelley alcala won twice in 2009 Lin-Ning junior int'l series UBS 11 and 2011 Lin-Ning singapore junior int'l series UBS 13.and i hope this sibling will continue their journey for giving honor for their country.they are the filipino's pride!
FYI: venice alcala also won the 2011 Lin-Ning Australia junior int'l series UGS19 and runner-up in mixed doubles U19.
