Clear reflection of why these players are just assigned to be foot soldiers for Wang Yihan, Wang Shixian and Wang Xin and a proof that they are not really prepared to take over the dominant position. Wang Lin's match was tough to watch. Her horrible injury really took away her best form. Sad day for her fans..
I think another way to make it exciting is to get someone to play both singles and doubles. This will crack everyone up.
Well this is a surprise............congrats to Japanese ladies esp Eriko who fought very hard not only prevent clean sweep but also to ignite their teammates spirits. Clearly, Cheng Shu/Pan Pan and Wang Lin weren't prepared to play. They thought it'll be another 3-0 victory.
Seems Wang Lin still not 100% fit. Come on Wang Lin stay out from your knee injury shadow. You can be the World Champion again..........
Been told that Wang Lin still has a problem with her legs...iNA coach told me she did not move well and Mitani was quite clever with her tactic today...
For tomorrow UC match, HKG decided to field their B team against fully strength Ina team. Here's the line up : http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...2683684-3720-4E9A-9ED2-14612CA675D0&match=242
as for China, it is a good experience for the youngster to see the big stage. the actual result of this qualification round is not really that important as China already qualified at this stage of the rounds. it is more important to groom the youngsters so that 2010 won't happen again.
If you see the Naito/Matsuo vs Cheng Shu/Pan Pan game, you will see that Naito/Matsuo can attack well too and when they smashed, they keep smashing until they won the point. Also it is because the opponent already tired because Naito/Matsuo defence is solid. 2nd game, Naito/Matsuo was trailing 0-7 before turning it around and won. Defence is a great strategy too. I think Park Joo Bong has done well with the Japanese men and women doubles. Japan is becoming a force to reckon with. In the past, top 5 men team(INA, CHN, MAS, DEN, KOR) are above the rest. Now JPN has closed the gap. Women team, only KOR and JPN can challenge CHN. THA is possible but they lack depth in their squad.
i think PJB is really enjoying coaching the Japanese team. they are hard working and disciplined. add that with the magic of PJB, the result shows.
Firda continue building momentum as she beat Chan Hung Yung 21-17, 21-15 Meanwhile TJY beat Gu Juan to make Mas 1-0 up As expected in Europe quali, Rus or Netherland are the expected opponent for Ina UC
Korea try to play around with their MD during today's fight against India. They need to do that, in case JJS still struggling with injury until May. I hope he could come back.
No doubt she's the prettiest player from CHN woman squad Agree, CHN without three Wangs plus their formidable pair Wang/Yu lost to Japan first class. Indeed, Eriko Hirose played major role to deny CHN won this qualifying round last night, thumbs up for her fighting spirit
OMG this never happens to Ina players : Mel/Greys put 9 pts in a row from 10-18 down to 19-18 !!!!!!!
