Very nice gesture by Lin Dan!
Very nice coverage by BWF on Youtube!!!

Just hope next time they get proper translators.... instead of random amateurs.

Imagine if CW had won the game 1 then retired in game 2, that would certainly cast doubt into LD mind. It was just a OK game, two notch players making tons of un-force errors, the only difference was LD was more aggressive from the gate on and you could tell he was all amp up and saved the best for last.

Its an anticlimax after a very competitive first set.

Congrats to LD for another AE title.

Aside from this, I do think all the players (specially Asia players) should learn how to speak English when they were interview. This is already 2012 and not 1950. How can badminton be a global sports if the TOP players most of them cannot speak English.

Or at least they should hire a better translator. The translator girl English and translation is horrible. Even Li Na (China Tennis player who cannot speak any English at first) can speak and translate better than her. UGHHHH

I think despite LCW's injury, this has to be one of the worst games LD has played in recent memory. Tons of unforced errors, two serves into the net in one game.

Anyone knows when/how LCW picked up this injury? He looked fine yesterday..

And wonder why we can't have this type of tournament in US. We keep on saying how successful was the World Championship 2005 yet not continuation from there so who to blame?

It really a serious injury guys. Look yesterday semifinal, he cannot play well against the korean.
But a bit awkward though when Lin Dan won because LCW giving it away due to injury.. :(

You gotta be kidding me like hell. He told the media before the semifinal that he have sore on his hand or something like that. therefore he cannot play well against the korean in semifinal. And today, it even worse...

so at what point did lcw aggravate his shoulder ?

he was playing fine all the way from beginning of tournament till end of game 1...

didn't see any particular shot he made that triggered it

it is easier to host WC as there is no prize money involved.

but it is also harder to host WC as they need to let all countries have a go at hosting it.

Not the most exciting game btw LD and LCW that I've seen. Nonetheless, credit to LCW for trying to play, but wise decision in the end to retire and not worsen the injury.
