MS Final exposed weakness of LD mentality, most of badminton fans said that LD has a very strong mentality in game, yesteday event denied that, haha, how come olympic champions like him put the shuttle at the net when serve, it also shown that LD also has a feel of afraid towards LCW, based on final yestesday, i could say that LCW mentality more strong and he dsnt feel nervous against LD, anyway good luck to LCW and LD, hope LCW can recover soon.

Who is more capable of stopping the other? Their last 6 meetings in 2011-2012: LD 5 wins vs LCW 1 win.

A delusional Boleh fan. Since LCW's All England win against Lin Dan last year, LCW has lost to LD five times and won only once at the Korea Open:

World Championships, 2011: Loss to LD
Guangzhou 4 kings exhibition, 2011: Loss to LD
Hong Kong Open, 2011: Loss to LD
China Open in Shanghai, 2011: Loss to LD
Korea Open, 2012: Win over LD
All England 2012: Loss to LD

Even the "new" LCW cannot beat the recent version of LD.

Close is nice, but it's not enough. Clearly LD still holds the upper hand.

LCW played with no pressure at all enabling him to give such a close fight to 19-21 because he was injured anyway. He might not have played so well if he wasn't injured, just saying.

Good that you mention "the recent version of LD", I notice that this latest version of LD is in much better shape than ever before, his muscles on his shoulder, back, chest and stomach are much better toned than in 08 Olympics. I feel that he purposely requested for a change of gear with LCW after the game just to show off his newly developed muscles, especially to LCW.

I think you read too much into the match that has zero indication about the mental and physical status of these two players. Chong Wei was injure and Lin Dan was still rusty trying to inject pace and power into his game ... I think is more appropriate to say both of them was using the stage to probe one another strength/weakness prior to Olympic without success. Everybody, including the fan, lose as none was display in this match so really no need to read so much from nothing:D
We did learn something about these players, they both have tremendous respect for one another, good enough for me.

I agree, you can't read too much into the match.....how hard ld/lcw were trying, how injured he was etc etc

What counts for this year is og.....best to leave discussion until then:)

It was a surprise to me that Lin Dan looked nervous in the first game otherwise the score would be much different. But, the fact was that he still used his strong mentality to win the game 1. For some reason he wanted this title badly. Perhaps he feels the pressure after Peter Gade said that he is the greatest player of all time:p. Lin Dan is Lin Dan. I think he will adjust himself to peak at the London Olympics.

Although the style of Lin Dan's play has changed since he is getting older, I did learn from yesterday games that he can still play a fast pace game (especially game 2) which could make his opponent look slow as if beijing olympics final. This certainly cast a big doubt about LCW Olympics gold medal prospect. All I can conclude from the game is that Lin Dan didn't show all what he can do just yet.

The OLD LCW would have played on despite injury and lose eventhough it is a heavy loss.

The NEW LCW retire half way through the game because scared lose confidence by another loss to LD. hehehhe

This is the difference of LCW now and last time. :D

She was definitely not picked for her "interpretation" skills. Don't know if I saw right but during the interviews, she was on the platform either shoeless or she had very flat skin tone shoes.

She must be a cunning linguist to be picked as an interpreter at the All England.
