So, this year Mel/Grace and Nitya/Feinya have lost to: Tian/Zhao Cheng/Pan Wang/Yu Tang/Xia Luo/Luo and now Bao/Zhong and as for Koreans: Ha/Kim Jung/Kim Eom/Jang Well-done girls! You are indeed the pride of INA!
Even if Saina were to win today, her next big hurdle is Chen XJ, a defeat at whose hand might be even more humiliating, I say.
Bae Younjoo is a good player...never underestimate her meek size and innocent expression..It's a pity she suffered a bad injury to her calf..otherwise she could have release her full potential to beat a lot of Chinese players... The only player that could beat her 100 percent is Wang Shixian...something which Li Yongbo needs of her in order to recapture the Uber Cup from Korea later...
For tomorrow's QF live telecast,I hope they show Ct 3 where Sindhu is playing, also get to see LXR's and CXJ's as well.
Here is an abstract from an article on Gong Zhichao. "Gong Zhi Chao has a height of 1.63m and weighs 53kg, therefore being the most duminitive one among the other team members. Some may think that this is a disadvantage to her, but in actual fact, it enables her to move quickly, giving her the full coverage on court. Gong Zhi Chao's nature during matches is to be lively in her movements, steady and go stroke for stroke. She pocesses great mental strength, causing her to fight for every point, no matter whether the score is to her advantage or disadvantage. Normally, she will manupilate her opponent until she finds a loop hole. Then, she will advance in on that particular weak point/s to get hold of the trump card. In several occasions, she fought off her opponents' match points to come back into the game and pulled off the winning point for herself. This goes to show that she is very capable of handling situations in times of anxiety and pressure." Camilla Martin will agree with this. . I believe that Saina Nehwal is putting too much pressure on herself lately. Even when talking to the press, more negative than positive things have been mentioned by her. I hope she will relax and think more positive from now onwards. .
I wonder if Saina's loss is due to bad officiating.. maybe there were too many Koreans being the lines man.
It's been quite disappointing for INA squad, only 3 rep in quarterfinal, At this rate, i'm not sure how KONI still think that INA can achieve 2 golds in the olympic( from badminton sector). Taufik Hidayat himself was so angry at the young player. http://olahraga.kompas.com/read/201...atin.dan.Sedih.Melihat.Prestasi.Tunggal.Putra
What are you on about ? Bae won it fair and square and in fact the linesmen were Indians ?.... Maybe Saina could have played a lot better if she doesn't set her expectations too high or even express so much confidence publicly...she is not doing herself a lot of favours...
That was a sarcastic statement. Couple days ago, Saina openly stated something like " ... the officials in China favorites the local players...", and I am assuming that's was just out of frustration of losing to the Chinese players.
This IND open really do showcase upsets Saina lost on home court tourney...SO can P.Kashyap deliver against CJ today? This is the best tourney so far this year (for me, solely me) Some usual suspects proved to be otherwise, and I cant wait for today's matches!
Interesting statistic : No same country matches yesterday and today. In fact from round1, only 2 Indian vs Indian encounters and no other country. Things will change in SF. I think the 4 China WS have good chance to win.
