what is a really good string for smashing and has got good control with good durability because at the moment i have a bg65ti and when i smash i fell i havent got enough power compared to how i used to smash and also the clears arnet very good if i hit the shuttle as hard as i can from the back of the court i can only get it into halfway of the opposite side:crying:
Try Nanogy 98. lots of power for smashing. Very durable for a thin 0.66mm string. Controlling the net can be a little tricky at first but once you get used to it...you'll be fine.
Totally agree with this. I used to think 95 is the best combo between durability/power. However, my mind changes as soon as I play on Nanogy 98. Like usually I can get the 98 to last 2-4 months or so strung at 26lbs, playing about 5-10hrs a week or so. However, I am starting to fall in love with Ashaway Zymax 65 Red/Yellow at a fraction of the cost of the 98.
4 me nanogy 98 hav a good smashing power n durability. The feel is also pretty good. I compare it wit bg66 um. Strung both at the same place, same time m! Tension, nanogy 98 last longer. My bg66 um snap at the third week. The string started to torn at the 2nd week. Nanogy stand til now n it almost 3 months.
whats the best string for smashing i want a string for purely smashing, heard the bg80 was meant to be good but is the new bg80p better and how does the bg66um compare to these two strings
It's going to be different for everyone, but I'm a user of BG80's for more than 10 years and I didn't like BG80P at all. It absorbs power and feels dull. I also don't like the nanology line for the same reasons
I used BG65 for a long time and still consider to use it at high tension at 30lbs I think. Used it at 27lbs and it still was kinda dead. NBG95 is fine at first, but it's not good for sliced shots, in the end it can't keep the tension and feels dull. NBG98 is still slippery, but doesn't feel that dead. BG80 is what I would go for. Keeps tension, sounds good and it's nice to use sliced shots. Downside is, it's torn very quickly if you like to slice...
Do as I did, change string to Gosen Nanocubic, it gives you great power and durability. Since the string is quite stiff it may take a short while to get used with it and the control. Its worth to try for you.
I currently using BG80P at 28lbs, so far the feeling of smashing it's good comparing previous BG66um at 27lbs....
