I think we counted 19 games. Suffice to say we were walking funny afterwards. Too bad you couldn't join us.

Maybe you could come out for the next meet & greet whenever that is. And whomever can organize it. Not me* :D

    Some general comments about BV.

Courts #1 and #2 (closest to the front door) are pretty bad during a sunny daytime drop-in. If you are facing the foyer...you will lose sight of the shuttle at times. It was like staring at the sun. We switched to the back corner court (#12). It was better. Maybe it's just me but the courts felt hard. But keep in mind that I was out-of-shape as I pulled up lame (leg cramps) so that may have affected my perception.

Was looking forward to having lunch at the mezz but it was closed for the day. Cuz they be getting booze soon :D. That's a "+" in my books. ;)

Pro shop was tiny. But they have a demo racket program which is great. Try before you buy kinda thing.

Bathroom/change rooms are top-notch. Gotta remember to bring a padlock and use one of their many lockers. And bring small toiletries and bath towel to take advantage of the showers there.

I agree about the flooring...it's like when you run on a paved track v/s sidewalk. I usually play at Poco ClearOne and this was definitely different. Time to get better shoes!

CD: I did mention those things in my pm. ;) Make sure you wear thicker socks next time. It's not your imagination, the floor is harder than mats.

I guess I'm not used to playing on the harder surface after many years on mats. My ankles were feeling it today.

Anybody up for drop-in or court rental on Saturday Sept 15th between 2-4pm? Dropping my kid at the indoor beach volleyball place for a birthday party. Badminton Vancouver is close by so I might as well get a few games in.

It's actually next week Saturday (15th) that I will be able to play, not this coming Saturday (8th).

No. I just got the info. I'm hoping my financial situation improves next year so I can resume lessons. I'm targetting next year Feb/Mar if all things go as planned. And possibly convince my friend to take lessons at BV with me.
