WSX saved two match points today against Jindapon and yesterday saved another three match points against Zetchiri. She sure is mentally strong player. Don't know why she still suffers from that mental barrier.
First, all those post-OG events mainly involved the gold medallists, the rest were invited only to a couple of them such as the homecoming/welcoming ceremony for the Olympians and the special one held in Hong Kong. Second, it's true these gold medallists were not attending systematic training during that period. If you can read Mandarin, search the relevant China sports pages online, there are plenty of it. 'Nobody have tested her deep'(sic). Possible, but then LXR is still developing as a player, not keeping still, I believe - so let the future tell. If you're satisfied with that one win by Sindhu over an off-form LXR, suit yourself. I'd hope for more, that she goes on to translate that victory into title wins; no point just beat LXR and then lose to the rest. For example, it'd be really incredible if she had gone on to beat Jiang YJ and even win the CHN Masters title and, better still, not lost in the early round of the following tournament, the JPN Open, to Bae YJ ,a player who is not quite comparable to LXR. Anyway, I repeat I've already commended Sindhu on the win but in the right context and perspective. Lastly, the word luck isn't confined to mean only 'chance happening'. Otherwise, when I wish you luck before a tournament, are you going to take offence with me? What, you mean I can only win by luck? Anyhow, this isn't the point I'm trying to make as I've already explained when I referred to Lu Lan and Sindhu as 'lucky recipients'. I think I've said enough, this issue is too trivial to argue further.
JOJ is playing well...hope he will continue his form...been in bad form lately....great entertaining match
great battle and JOJ takes it....I see him developing a rally style play...much like Kenneth Jonassen...
Hi, good to see you here. Another grueling battle for WSX who is 'lucky' to have won. She is talented but just lacking in 'that ' killer shot, a good smash (I'm not expecting it to be lethal but simply effective will do). Tomorrow she faces her compatriot Jiang YH who is in fine form. I doubt WSX can get the better of her this time but who knows. Whatever, I join you in cheering her on. Jiayou, Wang Shixian !
Didn't expect Gu Juan to push Wang Yihan so hard, esp the 1st set. Too bad, she has to meet WYH so early.
If this two hard-won matches can toughen WSX and help her break out of her self-made cocoon, it's worth it. May she finally emerge stronger and begin a new chapter in her life and career. Wish her all the best.
MZ is losing the plot, and beginning to play a bit desperately.... that won't help! DPY up 16-10 in game 2, looking good to finish it in straight games.
