On another note: I think that a lot of players from other countries in most disciplines have found the past 2 tournaments to be a liberating experience. And they will most likely carry this confidence forward to other tournaments, regardless of opposition...
btw, anyone know why the organizers didn't give medals to the champions? are the trophy they gave more expensive/worthy than silver and gold medals?
i know they can't be. but i think at least they are gold plated, aren't they? so at least they still contain some gold. hehe.. btw, what are the trophies made from? titanium, silver or what?
I seriously doubt any of these medals or trophies have any value for the materials used! In the end, I suppose it's all subjective... personally, the medal take up less storage space... on the other hand, I could actually use a French Open trophy as a lovely flower vase in my living room...
