XS pats THW on the back to congratulate him.

Tian's better stamina and net control was the biggest difference

Tian Houwei has proven why he is the best here and will be one of the best in the world in time to come.

FYI, I found out that Tian Houwei was once briefly coached by Grand Master Tang Xianhu.

Tian Houwei fully deserves this title, how could it be otherwise when he has beaten a living legend yesterday ?!

It is like watching Sun Jun playing against Yang Yang of yesteryears.

Pardon me, I didn't know Sun Jun was that good because I laid off badminton for quite a while until Lin Dan appeared. Yang Yang I know, all thanks to Zhao Jianhua who is my number hero before Lin Dan came along.

I heard the commentator saying their smashes sounded like whiplash.

It was a great match, THW vs XS. But apparently not many here are excited or thrilled by it simply because it's CHN vs CHN. Such a shame.

I think Tian Houwei is the son of Li Yongbo double partner, Tian Bianyi.

For my friend Justin. Sun Jun like XS is from Guangdong. Was a WJC winner and about as tall as XS. Very fast on court, he was considered the quickest player in the world during his time. He had a ferocious attack, both forehand and backhand and a very good defense too. He was both a world championship and AE winner. Was plagued by injury and retired after Sydney 2000. Is married to Ge Fei, one half of the legendary Ge Fei/Gu Jun ladies double combination
