Wow Joachim Persson playing in the qualifyings. Anyone knows what happened to him? Just took some time off or did he have a injury or something?

    Tough draw for Ratchanok...

China only send a handful of 2nd stringer to this India Open, as compared to last week BAC. This is a SS event, what is China thinking!!!

Aha, I see Rat is on a collision course with Sayaka. A score for her to settle I reckon

Intanon (RI) should meet Sayaka (ST) in R16.
When I saw the game between them in last week BAC, ST has a more lethal smash (sudden burst of power smash) and seems to be able to anticipate RI shots. In fact, I thought in their 3 sets match, ST looked the likely winner and could have won in 2 sets had ST held on to her early lead. ST also uses her height advantage well against RI. It will be tough for RI, because I think ST improves with every game she plays.

That is a "new" one to me, because I thought that some of the BAC matches that featured China vs China were not that "exciting" and end results "predicted".
I like what the Koreans are doing to determine their in-form players (for Sudirman Cup) . . . . let the players "fight it out". :)

    Off topic.
Too bad the Malaysia GP Open is not held in the same venue as Sudirman Cup 2013. Otherwise, I think many countries would send in their possible "Sudirman Cup Players" to this year edition of MAS Open (China included, I think), albeit only a GP event. Malaysia could have anticipated this (to have it in same venue), and to draw out the crowd, especially with Malaysia election on 5th May 2013. :)

That's a lot of withdrawal for a super series event. LCW will be there. Because of sponsors both in local and international.
