The surprise package for me today wasn't Sindhu, but MD pair. Akshay/Pranav almost nailed it. A bit more polishing and they could count themselves among top 10 in the future. World MD is very tough group though. Also, didnt see Pradnya Gadre much till today. Liked the way she played. The Chinese targeted Ashwini. Akshay generates a very steep smash with the jump he achieves at the T. Something, even Pranav cannot produce with his height.
Yeah, today's stars are not the Chinese nor Sindhu but its the Indian MD and WD. I literally had no expectations from those two what so ever... I was just counting on the two singles categories. Boy-o-Boy I was in for a surprise today. I am impressed with both of them mainly because I havent seen much of them in fact its my first time seeing them play. I thought they would be steam rolled like XD and MS but they stood their ground. They showed us that they were worthy enough to play SC and worthy opponents. Thoroughly enjoy today's match up with China despite my team's loss.
Yeah, Dewalkar/Chopra gave hard time for CHN pair despite losing in straight games. Also WD, banking 18 points at first game against the mighty Wang/Yu isn't easy job. And Sindhu played well too, forced Wang YH playing three games, her first ever Sudirman Cup experience.
