i dont really care about when the ac was swtiched off, but it's just stupid and unprofessional for the ac to be switched off at all. it made everyone in the stadium uncomfortable and it didnt improve the games at all. anyway since the tournament was in china, you can rest assured that the organizers did every little thing they could to give chinese players advantages on top of the home advantage
Hey guys - preemptive warning. Obviously, we can go into circular arguments between the believers and disbelievers. If that's the case and people get silly about it, then sorry, the thread would get closed In the end, it doesn't change anything. Really, we would need a statement by BWF on the situation and some of results of their review of the tournament running. I hope they do so. But yes, it was hot by the last match and much less so at the beginning. Then again, there were fewer people in the stadium at the beginning. It didn't occur to me to take a picture of the people sitting in the BWF area fanning themselves (
since most people hold the fans with their right hands, there may be a clockwise wind throughout the stadium.probably not a significant effect though a more important factor though is that the shuttlecocks fly slower(or faster, cant remember) when the temp changes
It's true!!!! Thousands of people fanning themselves inside a closed arena can cause massive drift!!!! When they turned off the Air Con, they should have make an announcement: "Attention: Fanning is prohibited inside the arena!!!"
Maybe they just switch off the air-con on the left side of LCW and left the right and rear side on. I remember one shot that LD hit towards LCW's right which looked to be going out but landed in.
u answered me with that. and then u make that bold statement. im not hurt from lcw defeat, i was expecting that, even voted he will not win this wc in bc poll. but change the environment in the middle of a game is just something fishy when your opponent is leading and the game is played in ur home ground. why not keep the condition until the last crowned player received his trophy. this thread would not exist if they did that
It's absolutely ridiculous that LCW was dehydrating from the rising heat. He had drinks sitting in his bag for crying out loud. If he didn't have the common sense to rehydrate himself under hot conditions than his coach should know better. It's disappointing to see these claims. Goes to show that some people just can't lose with dignity.
There are tons of Wang Lao Ji can drinks in the freezer...surely LCW could have down a couple of those and keep himself hydrated and cool? One other reason he may have cramps is because he had a tough 3 sets with DPY the night before and had limited time to recuperate.
Lol. Wang Lao Ji! Athletes these days have spas and massages after matches. Shouldn't have been a problem unless they go real budget.
My though exactly, a tough 70 mins 3-setter with DPY, followed by an even toughter 94 mins 3-setter with LD!
i just watched all 3 finals between these 2 rivals, WC 2011, OG 2012 and recent final WC 2013. I realized their games become slower and slower. Is it the age factor? when your age reached 30, if too much push on your body, you can easily get injured. just my thought with experienced playing with some old people.
I notice older players prefer to play high clears, lobs, drops and deceptive shots...maybe they do not have the stamina to play aggressive.
You should see Beijing Olympics 2008 MS Final. The stamina, speed and power of Lin Dan was beyond belief.
