It may be that Sung JH's self-confidence took a hit ever since she lost that sensational defeat to Wang Yihan at the 2011 Sudirman Cup which could be why the never-say-die attitude and fighting spirit that many KOR players are well-known for seem less evident in her the past two years or so. But she is coming back steadily of late.

Actually I was hoping to see an LXR vs Saina clash tomorrow for its excitement factor but Sung JH is just as well as she can be a difficult opponent for any of the top CHN WS, possibly more dangerous than Saina.

If I am not wrong, Hendra around 2009 said that he got difficulties to very flat and tight service and service return from fine players like LYD, Boe/Mogensen. Kido was aggressive but ineffective partner and they played old styles MD which result is not consistent.
With ahsan he seemd a bit improved his net skills and flat drive. Ahsan also transformed into agile with one killer smash instead of smash raining like Kido that made ahsan/hendra rally mostly short. Either ahsan kill with his smash or quick net game.
I see this only as another style of MD. May not be long trend. We'll see.

In 80s and 90s MD mostly smash galore kind of game. We love that. But MD transformed from baseline hitters to net hitters now. Just my view hehe

there could be no excuses this time as to why there are walkovers from the chinese. The only reason is to improve the rankings of certain players. BWF is certainly blind, doing nothing to stop this.

Two first seed gave walkover to their country fellow opponents. Hmm...

Can't be some sort of far fetched statement about the China-China matches anyways being played on the non-stream court? BOO for this sort of behavior! Real, real bad timing if they actually injured themselves like...this.

Just heard of the two withdrawals, practically back to back. Disgraceful, really, disgraceful!

As usual. The Malaysians will lost again to a "new" Korean pairing. Allergic to Koreans ehh? :)

The Malaysians are always relying on their defense. They cant even sustain a long offense just like what the Koreans are currently doing.

Despite of 42 minutes 2 game, LYD/YYS won over KKK/TBH was not good game. One dimensional, no tactical as the Malaysian either smashing without result.. or got torn on their defense by korean smashes.

Why not let Wang Xin benefit from the w/o instead . She needs it more both for the encouragement and the rankings.

IMO, sad to say, Koo/Tan has past the prime of their career. From the way it looks now, seems like they are lacking the mental and physical aptitude to compete at the highest level.
