Yeap it is really frustrating to see such walkovers...

Correct me if I am wrong, IIRC, rankings points will be deducted if players gave walkovers. IMO, this may not be very effective as points can be earned back quickly especially for top players

Was thinking if a more deterrent type of action could be taken to reduce such "situations"?

On the other court, the JPN women are winning against the Thais.

The Thais lost, also with identical scores. 14 & 14.

What defence by WYH. Blocks the smash over BYJ as she rushes the net.

Seems like if you body smash WYH, it yields good results.

Yup, WYH, same as Tago, weak defending against body smash.

As usual,Du Pengyu's fitness and stamina are amazing. Last week he helmed CHN to win the East Asian Games in Men's Team and Men's Singles golds which ended Sunday, and this week he's here seemingly as energetic as ever, the jetlag notwithstanding.

It will be great if he can shock Lee Cw tomorrow but I'm not betting on it.

Lucky break for BYJ. Missed the overhead but it lands long. BYJ 9-8

Perhaps the only real way to solve this would be for BWF to really look into if all these players are injured, perhaps they do I don't know. Just, look and see if there really was a reason for the WO and that it's not just a cheating move.
Otherwise any "system" would probably hurt the players involved in a real WO ,both the one giving the WO and the players that goes through onto the next round.
